Or avocado green. Before long, today's stainless steel will be yesterday's harvest gold/avocado green (and I can hardly wait for the day).

Ha! Yeah, pink. I lived in a 1960s house and it had a very pink bathroom. Very nice tile work, but pink.

When I was a kid we lived in a L-shaped ranch similar to this one. It was green - inside and out!

I've lived in a few of these in California. The most common configuration I've seen is the garage in the front and the house in the back (opposite of this). You walk to the entrance along the side of the garage. The kitchen is on the garage hand, the bedrooms on the other, the living room is straight ahead. But the houses I lived in as a kid all had a garage in the back, most often on the alley. Often detached.

Daniel, I get the green. House I grew up in down in Florida had a green family room with dark green, light green shag carpet. Got to love the 60's.
pbacot, One of the things I find real interesting about the 50's, 60's ranch homes is the varied differences in style , depending on the region. Cool thing about the neighborhood I grew up in, was mostly ranch style , but each had a unique look. Not the cookie cutter you see today were it seems every other home is the same.

The suburb our ranch house was in had about 4 or five house designs, but even though you could recognize the design, no two were alike. The developer changed each one - they were mirrored, the brick/siding was changed, windows, etc. Nowadays they really are identical cookie cutter houses.
