Every year with each new version of SU I'm struggeling with the installation of plugins (This is the reason that I am still using SU2015pro)

Installing sketchucation plugin is the first problem. At preferences I can't find the extention tab.

            How can I intall plugins?
            Where is the plugin Folder?

I am feeling like a beginner (after 10 years using SU)...

              @jo-ke

In v2017 Extensions are now separated into a separate dialog -
this is accessed from the menu item:
              Window > 'Extension Manager'

To Install an RBZ archive use the red-button bottom-left of that dialog, entitled 'Install Extension'...
Thereafter the installation process is the same as in the earlier versions...

                      C:\Users[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2017\SketchUp\Materials\

Or make your own under Window > Preferences > Files

Download the free D'oh Book for SketchUp πŸ“–

                        Thank you. I found it!

a lot of work. Many plugins doesn't work.

Maybe I stay at SU2015 as last year. It took to long to get SU2016 to work. SU2017 seems to be the same problem

                          another question:

I am using SU on three places: at home, at work and at my notebook.

Is it possible to install the pluginfiles at a special dropbox path, to install all plugins for all desktops at one Folder?

It really makes me mad so search 3 times after different plugins...

Except for some specific plugins in most cases you can probably just copy the "master" plugins folder over to the two "slaves" folders which will at least save extra searching time.

Won't work for some plugins related to third folders data though.

And some plugins store local information (settings, custom data) you wouldn't have access to from the two "slaves" computers.

                            still sketchin'

never copy extensions any longer, that's asking for trouble

Rather use the extension warehouse features, or the sketchUcation plugin manager, or Smustard's "My Plugins" or a combination of these.

Also take a look at Rich O'Brien's CloudUp... πŸ˜‰
