Noticed something new on Trimble's home page?
Seems Sketchup 2017 is here.
Not much noise around it though, wonder why..
Have a go: http://www.sketchup.com/download/all

You can get SU2017 Pro if you go through the main page and download it.

No problem of overwriting previous versions ?

No. As with every single release of SketchUp ever, the new version installs entirely separately from older versions. You can even keep using your old SketchUp 2 if you want.
-
Just tried to update to the new version and it said that my license # was not correct. Since I have a maintenance agreement, I assume they will send me the updated license # very soon.
-
The license key and serial number for an older version never works on the newer version of SketchUp. Did you run through the License Wizard? It ought to give you the new license info.
-
Oh, please, not again...
So a finally working offset tool, two new inference options and faster transparency are the top new features of 2017?!? How about the performance with 30 million non transparent faces? Or importing 3 million faces? Or executing ruby scripts?!?
I hope they saved the best new features for a second video...
But yeah, i always wished i could change the axis colors! Must have been really hard to implement! WOW! One color for every direction and i can adjust them separately! Well done.
Looks like another wasted year... unbelievable.

Have you try to Install Joint PushPull by Fredo 6 ?
Edit : resolved You must have the ultimate last version!!! (JPP +Lib Fredo)
-
Pilou, you should always install the latest version of all extensions when you get a new version of SketchUp.
-
Still no Layer lock option
-
Last Twilight Render 2.62 works fine!
But curiously Visualizer not!

no mystery there, Visualizer would need to be updated to Ruby 2.2 and development was frozen so it won't be...
it is probably a very easy fix if you can talk them into it...

No matter what or how many changes, there will always be the whiners.

Does anyone have any good examples of extensions for the Layout API?

For people who have/make custom ruby plugins: the way you install / enable extensions has been slightly changed.
Just in case:- zip your loader.rb (+ folder)
- rename the zip to rbz
- install by using the extension manager.
- In the extension manager - choose the settings (top right) and choose 'unrestricted'
wasn't this the case with SU2016 already?
-
@juju - In 2016 You can just drop stuff into the plugin folder and it is loaded at the next start
