    hello,

does vray support GPU in RT render?

i'm questioning because i just saw a video that uses OPEN GL an CUDA

but in vray manual states :

    "Notes

V-Ray RT in SketchUp does not currently support rendering on the GPU."

    http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY2SKETCHUP/V-Ray+RT+and+SketchUp

i have a nvidia quadro k2200 and i would like to take advange of this feature, can anyone help?

    regards
    filipe bonito

ps. sorry for my english, is not my language...

I am not having any luck with it currently. When it did work, it wasn't great. Let's keep pusing for a 3.0 release!

The nvidia quadro k2200 is not going to be very productive. It doesn't have the horse power for GPU rendering.

well that's really all i got...

i just need to quickly render a small window in real time, i guess it would be better than use the CPU

Right now, it's best to use CPU for the RT rendering.

                why do you say that?

because it more or less works. I use the CPU based RT all the time for when I'm setting up my render. There's a few minor issues like translucency doesn't work properly, but overall I find it quite useful. Like others said, the GPU based RT is not functional in this version of vray.

thanks, but can you confirm that it works? (just because i just get a black screen with gpu or cuda...)

change to CPU option and try it 😄

(sometimes it helps to reset the options to default if some settings are screwed up, and then start over changing one thing at a time.)

Just tested a simple cube using RT with a Titan X GPU and it doesn't work. Like Andy said, for now use CPU and if you access to DR nodes, use them as well.
