Count me in for testing.
Work flow Question : so if I had modelled a radiator I'd then uvmapped it using wrap-r - I then wanted to make it rusty and bashed - I could take this model and uvmap into substance painter paint the rough edges and rusty corrosion then can this come back into sketchup? Would it be a .fbx?
-
of course. And because you now have a UV map Painter can bake out the cavity, AO etc that it needs.
-
It can easily be done cmeed.
You just have to export in a format you can import in substance (designer or painter).
Then you don't need to reimport, you simply replace your texture for the one generated by substance tools.
The replacement can be done in several ways:
- Export the bitmaps generated from substance;
- Nativelly inside sketchup you can use the paint bucket tool > Edit > Browse for a (new) texture;
- Choose one of the substance textures (probably base color or any other stuff. From painter you can bake lightinfo and export the map wich migh give you some cool ideas)
-
Very nice!

Got it. Nice one

Hi,
I only found out about this amazing tool now...What's the progress of it? Any beta testing or release date already?I haven't found any recent posts about it...

Hi,
It's in testing. The release candidate is getting final touches.
We will be looking for more PC only testers well versed in unwrapping.
If your interested mention it here.

I'm defnetely interested!Most of the unwrapping I do is in blender, and sometimes 3ds max. But it will be amazing to not have to leave SU environment.

If your interested mention it here.If you still need a tester, count me in. Experienced in unwrapping uv's since 3ds-dos (for real-time purposes). I'm very interested to see if it can assist in the process of getting stuff from SU to Unreal without having to go through Blender (2nd uv channel).

I know I'm coming in a bit late with the request, but... may I be considered for testing this?

Any news on this front??

Summer holidays has meant we are delaying the beta a few weeks. Expect news in early Sept.
-
early September is coming soon?
-
Working on it...
Trying to tie up the licensing part and nail down to documentation
-
Ah, but clearly not fast enough. Lazy, lazy. Tsk!
-
Ah....Mr.Stinkie
It's like a fine wine...it must age
Or like a Belgian beer...it must fizz
Not too far from release.
