Rotate face and keep geometrie
-
Hello,
I have little problem
When i try to rotate just the top of a polygon, its all of the polygon its affected by the rotation of the top
I just need a tool that let me rotate and keep the geometry like blender scale rotate by edge
wrong :
Thank you in advance for your help

Not that I know of. Maybe one of Fredo's Scales tools can do this. But I'm not sure.

Is this what you're after?

Hi Rich O brien, thank you for your quick response
yes fredo scale work but is need to select the complete polygon just for that
i search a tool that capable of rotate by edge selection on keep geometrie in the same time
just like blenderits ok but need its to select the entire polygon and its not rotation its moving from fredoscale
not other tool for this task ?
Thank you on advance and sorry for my english

What tool? I just approached the problem differently. Instead of rotating the top, I cut the cylinder off at an angle with a cutting plane. Draw the cutting plane at the desired angle and use Intersect Faces to create an an intersection. Then erase what you don't need.
This method also makes it possible to make more complex cuts if you need to.

Ok thank you Dave
Its many solutions for make this but im just " slowed " compare to blender tool for this little task
this fonction miss me alot.i dream to select the edge contour from the top and just rotate it ^^ and the geometre still in place.
Again thank you for your time.

It's time to learn a different program and approach. This method isn't complicated and it doesn't have to be slow. It gets you what you asked for, too.

SU doesn't use the same geometry manipulation method as Blender.
Blender can target pivot points and 3D cursors. Adding this to SU would make it troublesome to use for a concept modeling application.
-
I must say I don't understand your reluctance to use Fredoscale for this.

i use it ! its freaking awesone tool !
its just you need to select the entierly model for that
in this case its easy to select your model but in a more complex model ?
imagine you can make this just on selecting the edge from top ?
But i now, su is not the same with blender.
thank you again

If you build your geometry correctly and use groups and components you would only need to select the group and taper it.
