        Well, is plastic...and you know that 3D printing software makes that honeycomb structure inside... so I expect it will float... but I can't guarantee it won't be upside down πŸ’š I didn't do any buoyancy calculations, not even to find its center of gravity... (tig has a plugin for that, right?)

                I haven't had time for ages just to have a play, so this was a relaxing bit of fun.
                One interesting thing that came out of it that I was half aware of, you can twist your quads so they are kinda inside out and SUbD will still make beautiful shapes from them.

                  For a while, I thought your model was too messed up for SubD to actually work.Awesome discovery by just playing around..

                    I'm pretty sure it helped that I twisted it using Vertex tools as it tends to retain a good quad structure.

                              ... maybe simple - but very smart to build just a quarter of only one heater segment and to copy-mirror everything to a whole heater - a nice model idea!

                                  Wonderful examples. Loving meshes that have the bare minimum of quads to define a shape.

                                    A soft knurled knob for a friend's gadget.
                                    It will be a 3d print, the render was just for fun.

                                      I and Google Translate have no idea what a "knurled knob" is but these "segment rings" look great - are all these individual "subDed" components?

                                          Knurling is when you add the serrated edges to a surface to increase its grip.

                                          @Box

                                          That's a cool result. SU needs a poke tool to make this easier and quicker to achieve.
