Here's v4.0 http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=TIG_Fracture It now has slightly different options.
The 'Size' for the two parts is now 0.01 to 0.5 [1 to 50%].
The XYZ axes options are now better described as 'Variance'.
A 'Jitter' option has been added [0 to 1].

If an XYZ Variance is set to 0 then the splitting is done parallel to those axes.
The Jitter affects the randomness of the splitting plane.
Any Jitter is ignored if all XYZ Variances are 0.

            Nice!

            Any chance of material support?

not on the sliced faces. i was hoping i could load a material onto the cut face based on materials in current library.

Paint the faces within the group as desired [here RGB].
Paint the group itself [here Yellow].
                    Fracture the group.
The resultant pieces keep the RGB materials on any original faces, BUT any 'cut faces' will match the original group's material [Yellow]Capture.PNG

The 'Download' button always links to the Plugin's current version in the PluginStore.
So the link in the first post is the same as the one in the last update post.
They all take you to the same PluginStore entry.
I simply thinks it's better to put a link in any update post. as it obviates the need for you to find the link in the first post or search the PluginStore... πŸ€“
Anyway, enjoy playing with it πŸ˜‰

Rise, Thread! Rise, I say! Necro, Necro, Necro, Bring life back to this dead thread!

Hey Tig. I just started to use fracture, and I really like the plugin.

I do have one question. Has the Exploded or Scaled functionality been removed? Neither one is working for me. I am using SU 2017 Pro x64 on a AMD 8-core 4.0 GHz, 16GB RAM, Win 7 x64 SP1.

Error; #<TypeError; reference to deleted DrawingElement>

They changed the way entities are referenced in v2017.
Which causes issues with exploded objects.
I suspect this is the cause...
It is an older script and is marked as compatible <=v2014 although I'd expect it to work up to v2016.
I am pretty busy but I'll look at it when I can...

                                Here's v5.0
                                https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=TIG_Fracture
It's now compatible with all SketchUp versions >=v8, including the latest v2017.
It's now signed for full compatibility with all Extension Loading Policies in the newer SketchUp versions, and also it's now made into an Extension.

                                  Thanks, TIG!

As always, my friend, you are simply AWESOME!

I hadn't caught the compatibility tag. My bad for not reading closely enough. Thanks for updating things anyway. That just makes you even more awesome. SketchUp is what it is today because of all the wonderful Plugin / Extension authors.

After toying with this plugin for a while and loving it!

I was wondering however if it would be at all possible to generate a pyramidally fractured along an axis (think of it as if applying pressure to a marble cube which splits in half and both halves fit each other).

I've been trying to get this result with this plugin but haven't had the results I'm looking for. Do you have any suggestions?

No because it uses many API tools that are only available in the Pro version.
