Does anyone know of a plugin that works well?

For what version of SketchUp? Your profile shows you are using 2021 Free/Make. There is no such version. The only free version would be SketchUp Free 2023 which is web-based and doesn't have any facility for using extensions.

when i need quick - i use the HouseBuilder plugin, when i need construction plan level details i either use my own dynamic components and/or the Medeek plugins. the HouseBuilder plugin (extension) is working in SU 2023 Pro just fine.

You seemingly haven't installed it from its RBZ.
If you simply copy the ../Plugins/HouseBuilder_extension.RB file over to the newer SketchUp version it misses the images to make the toolbar-buttons [and worse!]...
Unfortunately the original author was in the dim past [20years ago] and made a half-baked extension loader file, and he didn't give his subfolder the same name as the RB file.
The new[ish] auto-migration tool assumes this file/folder naming convention and so it misses out copying the subfolder of images [and some other vital support files that are in that folder].
To fix it you need to find the whole HouseBuilder folder [and its contents intact] in your older version's Plugins folder and copy that whole folder over into the newer SketchUp version's Plugins folder.
When you startup SketchUp it should now find the subfolder and load the buttons' images and the other vital support files...

I know this post is dated back to the stone age... Is anyone still has this plugin to share? My pc crashed and lost everything.
                      Thanks in advance!

The attached RBZ files contain the original '/" version and a tweaked metric version.
They are both very old and might raise errors with newer SketchUp versions and their Ruby versions...
Try them at your own risk.
You might need to change the .RBZ to a .ZIP and extract all of its contents, then manually put them into your Plugins folder.
The individual files and the subfolder [intact and containing all of its contents unmoved] need to be put in...
