Did it fix your problem?
If so,
Does this mean disabling the two ThumbsUp.dll is the right thing to suggest to people with Explorer Crashes? -
I don't have thumbnails anymore...
This is really a bad suggestion!
I need thumbnails, bcause I have thousands of models and I don't know each name of it.
Is this really the solution of that problem?
-
After disabling those Thumsups XnView still display skps nicely (+and supports drag'n'drop).
-
I'm not suggesting that it is a solution. There is obviously a problem and disabling the thumbnails has been suggested as a workaround to stop explorer crashing. If that is the case then it helps to work out where the bug is.
So the question still remains, did disabling those two files, while rendering the thumbnails unviewable, stop the Explorer Crashing issue in your system?

Hi,
same situation as described by Baz. -
I was so happy to get my thumbs back with the 64bit version.
The proposed solution is really not professional.
I hope the will get fixed the bug as soon as possible
-
I give up.

No crashes anymore since renaming.
But I have to rename it back, because previews are essential to me.
I hope there will be a fix soon!

Same problem here after installing SU 2015. Renaming the ThumbsUp files seem to work. Primarily occurred in one drawing project folder and subfolders with all my current SU files, CAD, reference photos and pdfs which were created in SU 2014. I did find some info in the windows error messages that said it was related to ntdll.dll. I am on Win7 pro current service packs etc. I did like the added thumbnail views that 2015 offered.
Hope that gets a fix within Sketchup soon. Thanks to all! -
Yep, having the same problem.
If I have used 15, and save the model in a particular directory/folder. When I go back to that directory to find another file in explorer, the upper directory folders will open, and then as I drill down to the directory/folder I wish to access, explorer will close. This is the directory/folder that had the last SKP save.
Very frustrating when working a series of files in the same directory/folder. Doesn't seem to have this problem if I go to another different directory/folder.
I was wondering could it be the SKP.0 file that is causing the problem.

I've wrote to my local dealer:
they gave me that answer:
Your support issue was forwarded to the SketchUp Support Team USA.
Since last week, I am in touch with the team, and it was confirmed to me that the error has been reproduced.
Currently the team is working on a fix, but no release date for the fix has been announced.Once we get a release date, we will let you know.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Thanks Jo-ke,
please post when you get an answer!
Later: I downloaded a new copy of 2015 and the problem seems to be solved (also a related? problem that drawings would be opened in2014 with a pop up that requested me to download 2015) I am spending more time on 2015 issues than I am drawing in 2015 - frustrating!
-
unfortunately the problem isn't solved after the installation of the update.
-
Still not a complete solution, I have to right click and open with SU 2015 to keep Explorer from crashing. And now I can't move groups or components in the outliner. My latest drawing the foundation remains in the "roof", in a couple of days I will try another repair copy of SU2015 - my 4th copy!
-
This is still a problem and is getting me more and more angry!
-
I'm curious why you are posting your anger here and not at the official Sketchup Forum.
-
I am in contact with my local dealer. They are in contact with trimble.
-
SU2015 update today.
It seams to be solved!?!
