Sweet! it's really not easy is it! I don't know why I even tried doing it in SU all those months ago. Can you do it with any shape object?
I managed to do it wings but I find it easier in meshlab, although it still takes hours.
Also, do you know a way of reliably exporting quads from SU? Always bloody triangles!
Here is a voronoi bangle. Only Β£180 to 3D print.

SU to OBJ to meshlab
SU to OBJ to wings
SU to STL to meshlab
SU to STL to wings
Even wings to OBJ to meshlab results in triangles. Which is the most appropriate file type?Untriangulation works perfectly in wings, but when I export again the quads turn into tris.

STL doesn't support quads unless the tri'd face is coplanar
OBJ does.. You can export to Blender Quads as OBJ with QuadFace Tools. But firt the mesh needs to be QF compliant

Ah i see! thanks for the info, really helpful. One day we will see real quads in SU. One day.

Quads in SU is easy once u adopt the strategy.
AutoSmooth helps a lot. So does vertex tools.

Yeah because I'm making sure my model contains 100% quads before subd and almost 100% quads after subdivision and even then they are actually triangles when I export it. Even if the model is symmetrical, the triangles are not. I wouldn't even be bothered if the triangles were somehow symmetrical along the mirror line! I always have to remesh my SU export. Can you perform isotropic surface remesh in blender? now that's how you'd get a perfect voronoi or snakeskin every time!

I don't yet refind but someone had made an animation like the "waves wire lines" with Soap Skin Bubble!
