      Hi -

I am working cutting a bunch of sections through a relatively complex model. The section planes are all through the whole model (not within groups). When the 'section display toggle' is on, I am having trouble seeing the model when I double click to enter groups. It appears that the graphic representation of multiple layers of section planes is obscuring the model. Is there any way to lighten these section planes?

      Any other tips?

Basically, my problem is that I need to create additional section cuts within some of the groups so that multiple section planes can be activated simultaneously, but I can't see what I'm doing.

      Thanks -

You could temporarily group the section planes you aren't using and hide them. How many does it take to get like that? My model might look a little milky but not that hard to see.

Section Planes can be hidden from the Edit menu, and also respond to Unhide All and Unhide Last menu items.

With SketchUp 2014, Section Planes can be manipulated from a plugin to some degree. For example, it is possible to hide and unhide section planes from a plugin. So would a couple simple menu commands to "Hide unselected Planes" and "Show all Planes" be helpful?

Or use several Layers specifically created for sets of SectionPlanes.
Select the appropriate SectionPlanes and use the Layer-Toolbar or Entity-Info to assign one of those Layers to those.
Then switch OFF the Layers which you don't want to see and the SectionPlanes are not then visible...

you can also put the section planes on several / different layers and by hiding a layer temporary get them out of your way.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I decided to create layers for the section planes that can be turned on and off. FYI, the model I'm working has many rotated angles and the section planes seem to obscure things because they are not parallel or perpendicular to other section planes.
