maybe some of the pros could look into some speed optimisations
Sam IS a pro.
I don't think there are massive gains to be made in that area. Adding, intersecting dense geometry within a Sketchup plugin IS a slow process. This has been discussed many times..
Maybe in 2014, things are better, I don't know, still on 8. -
There might be performance to gain by using the second options argument
disable_ui
inmodel.start_operation
. It prevents the UI from trying to update as the model changes for the duration of the operation. Often this can give signification improvement. -
used this yesterday and the wood floor is spectacular... love the random imperfections option.

Nothing slips thou past

Only thing that stood out after a quick glance at the source code.

im using sketchup pro 2014If 2014 doesn't automatically create the Plugins folder, you can create it and copy plugins to
C;\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins

Are you submitting those BugSplats? Did you enter any info in the description or name that we can use to look it up?

@ Pixero
could you share your brick textures? I really like the results of your renders!

There's a link in my first post of this thread. They are in a sub folder of the one (BTW_Textures) they should be in when used by the script.
(And don't forget to move any textures you DON'T want to use into a subfolder.)
Might be a good idea to make a shortcut to the plugins folder for easy access since you'll have to move textures in and out. -
Sdmitch,
It doesn't work well for me. I've clicked on wood, it assumed default values and the cursor changed to the face picker. I choose the face and it went on creating the floor tiles:
- I couldn't change parameters at firts;
- After that I couldn't use the plugin again until I restarted SU
- After restart the same thing problem started all over.
I hope this is a minor fix, because this is big for arch viz. If you need a video showing the steps, I'll reproduce them as they were consistently repeating.
Thank you,
JQL

I think you had better do the video for me. Also, please provide info on your operating system, SketchUp version, and plugin version you are using.

all patterns, all sizes and all size of faces... its weird
I wish I could help you, but I don't have a clue. It has to be a something unique to you and not a common problem. What version of SketchUp are you using? Are you using a Mac or PC?

Here you go,
I thought this sort of info would show up in the forum (it used to):
- SU 2014;
- Windows 7;
- Last plugin version. The first one seemed fine.
I can't embed the video here so it's attached.
Thanks again,
JQL
