Sketchup 13 undo bug
-
If it's "Undo Add Layer Observer", it's related to Layers Panel. I fixed it and will soon release an update.
As for "Undo Properties", it's not Layers Panel. But it's a generic name, it happens when a plugin doesn't give names to its operations. -

Hi Y'all
I think Ive found the dirty devil.
BG Sketchup Component Manager
dtrI have the problem and do not have BG Sketchup Component Manager installed.
I have deactivated it and the problem persists... now is is even happening when I have just started Sketchup with an empty file and have not yet done anything. Seems I have to test my plugins one by one to find out which is responsible.

Re-read the post right above yours Pherim. Jiminy suggests it is also possible that it might be his plugin - Layer Panel. Check to see if you have that installed.
-
TT also found a bug that produces "Undo properties" in some cases with Layers Panel. I'll publish a fix soon.
-
One question, is it enough to disable the plugin in the plugins/extension manager of the Plugin Store? I did this first and it still appeared directly after starting Sketchup, but when I played around a little with various tools it did not seem to happen again. I don't know if it was Component Manager or Layers Panel, still have to test that and see if it really is gone now.

The bug should be fixed in version 1.0.1

I had the same problem, and found that it was Vray 1.49. but now the undo command undoes two or three steps not just one. so I'm constantly having to repeat things.
It is very annoying.

looks like uninstalling the component manager did it for me...so far. Took a while to find though since it was called BGScomposants...
Thanks for all your help everyone!

After a day of struggle of trying to work precisely knowing there's no undo available .. I finally found the culprit (in my situation)- It's the luxrender plugin that I installed few days ago.
IMHO, I think the cause will vary (I use Sketchup 8), so as a tip, I suggest to always log or remember the plugins that you install so it's easier to spot the troublemaker .

http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=Layers_PanelIm using version 1.2 & still get the problem where Undo does not work. It just gives you "undo properties" and does nothing.
-
Are you 100% sure it's caused by Layers Panel?
-
I also had this problem as well and did have the Lux plugins installed. I have removed them and I think it has fixed the problem on my end.

So... none of the suggestions above worked for me, neither having a fresh install of SketchUp 8... So I determined that it must be something in the model itself.
A clean new project doesn't have the bug, only some files that I work on from the get go.
After cutting and pasting the elements of the file I was having an issue with, into a new SketchUp project, the issue isn't there anymore.
I have Layers Panel & Layer Manager, and they don't seem to be the problem (evident by the fact that the issue persisted with a clean SketchUp install

Sometimes people create models that have some corrupting issue. Copying the geometry to a new file sometimes helps. On the other hand, if you're still using SketchUp 8, that might be a clue, too.
