Spots of light in my render
-
Hi guys, I am sorry if making a new topic is overkill, but I have a problem with lights. I canΒ΄t figure out hot to get rid of the spots of light in my scene. Pleases if somebody knows what am I doing wrong let me know. Thanks
In the picture you can see it well on the ceiling.

Hi Jenny, which render application do you use?
-
Vray?
-
Yes Vray, I dont know if the picture here is showing. Because in my browser it is not
-
Ok, moved to Vray sub-forum.
-
Which version of V-Ray?
Are you using an emissive material in the scene?
What are you render settings?Generally, it could be just low render settings. You need to increase your Light Cache to 12-1800 for final interiors and set you DMC sampler thresh to .005 or less.
If you are using VR 2.0 then try to load in one of the interior presets (Either High or Very High)
Note - This will increase render times significantly.

I am using Vray 1.48, And I am using emissive material for the lights next to the mirrors.
My rendering settings should be good (I was following instructions on a youtube tutorial.)
I will try to increase the Light Cache (It is on 1000 right now).
The DMC sampler thresh is on 0.005.
We will see, thank you so much for responding. -
It still looks more or less the same, should I try rendering it without the emissive material ?
-
This is after changing the setting. It looks better but I am not sure if it is because of the low resolution of the picture or if it is an actual improvement.

Your 2 problems are the version you are using 1.48 and emissive materials. You cannot use emitters as light sources in that version. They are better in 2.0 but you still should not light a scene with them. It is not the same a VRay light material in Max. We don't have this feature yet.
Some tips
- Use IES, spots, omnis, rect lights, to light your scene
Add a rect light at all of your window openings and set to light portal setting
Update to 2.0 when you can or at least 1.49.01 (1.48 is old old old)

Thank you so much for your feedback, I will let you know about my progress.
-
So I updated my V-ray to 1.6, added lights and changed the settings. Now I can just wait

1.6 is the beta version with many bugs. You need to be on the latest 2.0 to take full advantage of the bug hunt that went on during beta.
