Lines2tubes with preferred cross-section
-
Good day guys. I'm a new guy here and quite new in SketchUp. I've been a lurker here, downloading some of fredo6's tools. (thank you fredo
)
as for my question: what plugin that works like lines2tubes but you can set your own cross-section profile? can you guys find me some plugins like the one I'm describing or at least related to? or at least a square profile? thank you.

Some of my 'Extrude Tools' will let you extrude a selected flat face of any shape, along selected curves [i.e. 'welded' edges]
Look at EEbyFace, EEbyFaces, EEbyRailsByFace etc... also my LatticeMaker tool also makes 'rectangular' frames, with optional infill panes on selected mesh edges... -
You can use Lines to Tubes for that. Just change Precision to 4 for a square profile.
Or you could use Chris Fullmer's Perpendicular Face Tool to put a custom shape on the end of the path and run Follow Me or Eneroth's Upright Extruder.

perfect!! thank you for that. never knew that Precision stands for "number of sides." and what I thought I'm doing a circle is actually a decagon
@TIG thanks for sharing. I'm planning on using your plugins as well after I set up fredo's additional plugins folder.
@massimo superb plugin! and entertaining teaser
might consider using it as well.
