[Plugin] SketchUcation Tools

Bundle sharing isn't possible.
You would need a scenario where all PCs log in using one account and changes are synced to all devices.
I think Pixero has a build of the ExtensionStore where we trialed this type of scenario. Where one person had managerial rights in an office environment. All other PCs could not install extensions only the manager could.
Don't know if he uses it though?
We revisit the Extension this summer to fix the issues and add new sparkles and knobs.

No I'm not. It was too strict as the end user could not add their own favorite plugins.
I ended up using a "multi" login to one account for those who wished to use the predefined bundles.
Not ideal though. I wish there was a "corporate" version where the admin could set levels of strictness. and maybe even force updates.
I'd happily elaborate on this if you are considering doing something like that. -
New version of sketchucation tools increases loading time for sketchup significantly.
Opening and closing the plugin's interface now has a loading time too before I can continue with my work. Reverting to the previous version had everything back at normal.

Do you mean 3.1.3 has increased startup time? Which version are you reverting to?

Just wanted to share -
I had to disable most of my plugins due to a conflict with Vray 3.6.01. After update to Vray 3.6.02, most conflicts were fixed, but it seems that it still isn't getting along with Sketchucation Tools. After installing Sketchucation Tools, getting bugsplat while SU file is loading. Had to delete from Plugins folder to get SU file to open.
Hope they get all the conflicts worked out, I really miss Sketchucation Tools.

Anything in the ruby console? Anyone else running into similar issue?

I didn't check...had a looming deadline that morning... Actually, i'm not sure I could check the ruby console....sketchup wouldn't open(bugsplat while file was opening.) Wouldn't I need SU open to check console?..(i don't know squat about programming..) Is there a log file that stores info in these cases?

At the moment the only way to do this is to PM me and I can manually erase the bundles. There are plans to implement this function it is not in the current release.

I'll PM you an old RBZ...
Hi TIG,
Any chance you can shoot me the same rbz? i.e the 2.0/2.6 version that is.
Thanks.
-
Info in plugin store say:
.....<=v8 stick with v2.6...
Please upload old versions 2.0/2.6 if possible! -
After some searching through archives...
Here's an old version RBZ [2.6.2] that should work with v8 - BUT please remember that ALL other users with a newer SketchUp versions should always use the latest version 3... RBZ from the PluginStore.
SketchUcationToolset_v2.6.2-b11.rbz
No promises that it's perfect ! -
Thank you Mr. TIG,
This version give some errors.
Anyway it is enough for me as I'll use only Plugin Manager.
(So I removed extra .rbs files in main folder and Error disappeared.)
Thank you again.(Why SketchUp 8 - I decided to make a backup copy of SketchUP-8 with useful plugins inside - may be a stupid task, but it will stay in my archives.
And for information only - v8 is a lot faster at startup.) -
Hi everyone
How can I install a plugin into a custom folder through ExtensionStore v3.18 which the plugin info clearly says I can.
"Install SketchUp plugins or extensions into custom folder locations" from https://sketchucation.com/plugin/696-sketchucationtools
-
If you have more than one plugins folder defined for that version of SketchUp, then you are prompted with a dialog to choose the alternative destination - the standard Plugins folder is the default.
Some users get caught out by this dialog initially being sized to small to show the whole dropdown list - if so resize it by dragging a corner... its new size should then be remembered across sessions.
Obviously if you don't have any alternative plugins folders defined the choice dialog is skipped...
You can also have an additional Plugins folder set up if you have installed some complex app that used its own installer - often a rendering app.
This is often not installed in your user's Plugins folder, but a shared Plugins folder in the ProgramData path - install in there if you want all users to have that extension loading into their equivalent version of SketchUp...
If there's no ProgramData Plugins folder it's not listed.Another way to create your own extra Plugins folders is to use an extension - typically Fredo's 'Additional Plugins Folders' available from the PluginStore - this lets you define your own destination folder[s] which is then added to SketchUp's installation-destinations list as SketchUp starts.
You typically use this tool to load your preferred extensions from your own special plugins folder[s], perhaps having it shared across several versions of SketchUp [all running Fredo's 'Additional Plugins Folders'].
With an additional folder set up, the choice dialog should list it as an alternative to the main Plugins folder...
