Who is Dan
Most of you probably know him, but if you don't, Dan Rathbun is one of the top contributor to the Sketchup Plugin community. He created a few useful tools, but mostly he helped a lot of plugin developers create great plugins for Sketchup ! If you use a plugin, it's probably thanks to the direct or indirect help the dev got from Dan. His contribution is simply huge !
As a novice developer, I don't know what I would do without him and what he contributed to the community.Why he needs us
When I came across this post from Dan ("I got sick and NEED income"), I thought that I would donate some money to him. That's what a lot of people do when they want to thank a plugin dev, and that would be a well deserved salary for his work. But I said to myself, "wait a second, I'm broke and this guy certainly deserve more than the 20 bucks I can give him..."
So here it is, a donation campaign for this great man. If ever you used a Sketchup Plugin, Dan helped you. Now it's time to help him !Donation campaign on Indiegogo
I put the minimum goal which is $500, to make sure Dan gets the most money out of this (If the campaign doesn't meet its goal, Indiegogo keeps a larger cut). But I really hope we'll go beyond that !

Thanks for posting about this Jiminy and doing something positive about it. I was not aware of Dan's situation. I hope he recovers to full health soon.
I totally agree with you, that Dan is one of our more prolific developers and particularly when it comes to supporting other developers.

It keeps going ! That's the whole point. $500 is just the minimum goal allowed by Indiegogo.

Far out - this is really cool. Dan's helpfulness has been amazing and he is such a straight-forward guy to deal with. Glad to see the community really looking out for each other.
