what?!.. nice..
i was too young to see him live.. definitely one of my picks though if i ever come across a concert time machine..Isn't that what YouTube is for?
Funny though. Among all those YT clips of live concerts, the only one I've found that I actually saw live was this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a6qBknDxfs
It was a particularly memorable event for me. The audio you hear in that clip was mixed from the TV truck. But I was doing the "house" (audience) mix from a riser in the middle of the tent, running it at thunderous levels so the huge overflow crowd outside could hear it & not be tempted to force their way into the tent.
It was so loud I was worried about breaking noise control laws & getting hauled off to jail but the local Dutch engineers assured me Den Haag had no such laws. I did not know whether to believe them or not, but I did not get arrested so I guess they were right.

I stopeed watching new videos long time ago...
It's hard to beat that live performance by these four great blues guitar masters โฆ but how about one with a few more greats thrown in?

If you are not up for watching the whole 1 hour 20 minute show, at least skip to about the 1 hour 7 minute mark & check out the finale jam -- beyond awesome!
Heck, just the roll out credits are worth watching for the SRV clip.

There should be a like button...

I offer Nels Cline. I have no shame in saying he is one of my heroes. I know him as prog jazz player and composer extraordinaire, but he plays around. Here with Wilco.

Instructions on embedding vids might be in order. I had to dredge up and old post and experiment and am not really sure of the rules. If I figure it out, I'll post back.

Instructions on embedding: copy the default embed link which comes up when you click 'share.' paste it inside, adjusting as needed (add www; correct youtube):
EXAMPLE: embed link:
http://youtu.be/z79pgPn357gcorrected for SU, without required end brackets:
flash=560,360]http://www.youtube.com/z79pgPn357g[/flash
add facing brackets begin [ and end ][flash=560,360:m37okzwz]http://www.youtube.com/v/z79pgPn357g[/flash:m37okzwz]

(doing it like this also creates a hotlink above the video which will take you to youtube itself)
EDIT- and when i say 'copy/paste youtube link', i mean the one in the address bar of your browser.. no need to go to the share options.. works with other video sites as well (vimeo etc)
EDIT2- i guess i might as well put the video here which i was using in the example

Sadly today I'm listening to my kids watching Harlem Shake videos on Youtube.....ugh!!!

Uh, thanks, Jeff. That's what I was looking for. This little thread has gotten me muckin' around youtube music like never before, and I'm trying to keep it more generally palatable, but for me this one is really just something I stumbled on:
Miles Davis, Robben Ford & Carlos Santana - Burn (1986)

This is more up my alley and the vid has some cute moments:

"No Warning Lights" from the album LEVIN TORN WHITE. A collaborative beat down of original progressive rock instrumentals by three legendary musicians - Tony Levin, David Torn, and Alan White (from Yes).

Mercyful Fate is a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen, Metallica made their bread and butter doing covers of those that inspired them. This is one of my favorites. Curse of the Pharaohs.

I'm not a Steve Vai fan. I am a K'm-Pee-Du-Wee fan.
This is a non-vid, music only. I like not being distracted by the visuals.:

This is a street vid, music begins around 2:00.

Neither am I a blues guy, and when I was listening to the Allman Bros., Derek Trucks was this guy's dad, I guess. Nonetheless:

(doing it like this also creates a hotlink above the video which will take you to youtube itself)However you choose to do it, please keep posting more videos to this topic. Now that I have discovered it, the first thing I do when I visit scf is open this topic in a separate browser tab so I can listen to the clips while browsing the rest of the site in another tab.
It's like scf has its own music channel.

I'm sure many of you are already familiar with the Animusic projects from the Pipe Dreams video that 'went viral' several years ago, but if not, here's a sample of its unique blend of 3D modeling, animation, & music:

You know I just might not post anymore music that you folks don't give a shit about...
I can see you tremblin' now...
I can see you fret an' moan...Oh, you said that already?

Kind of fun; just stumbled upon.
