Did you try using an IBL?

I'm not too familiar with KT but I've seen other using them.

There's also this tut that can be applied to just about any render app

      Just a moment...

Make a studio with emitter placed around it to light you model with nice reflections.

Download the free D'oh Book for SketchUp πŸ“–

            Image Based Lighting

You use an image to light the scene rather than lights.

Minor tweaks update. Door spacing. Soften shadows. SU model cleanup.

hi Bryan, it is looking nice!
in my opinion the corner where floor and wall meet should be rounded like in the tutorial linked by Rich, the use of HDRI is also a good idea (im not familiar with KT either)
here comes another tutorial with concepts that should work with any application:

If you use a HDRI in KT remember to set "Linear Lighflow" to "off": settings-->advanced-->scenes-->"my scene" (the name of the scene)-->default global settings-->right click on "linear lighflow".

                      Thanks massimo and novena.

Massimo, I'm currently limited to the HDRIs that came with Kerky as I don't know how to make my own. I know how to include a photo image in Kerky and theoretically how make a curved image, but that's the limit of my knowledge at this time.

Great tip on the sun settings!

Here's some playing around with materials and also rebuilt the cyclorama. The black line in the background is function of the material used on the cyc. (chrome)

You can load whatever HDRI you want in KT. If you use a HDRI for this kind of scene, disable the sun.

Thanks again massimo. Best explanation I have ever seen.

I'll give this a try this week and post again.
