      Hello Folks
I am texturing my model and having trouble texturing individual parts
I have edited A in photo package to the exact size of the model part, but the texture keeps repeating. I have changed length & width in materials but it effects B. I have made each textures unique.

Not sure what else to try, any help as to what I am doing wrong greatly appreciated

      Simon

Materials can be applied ['painted'] onto individual faces OR onto 'containers' - groups/component-instances when internal 'unpainted' faces will display with that material - in this second case the texture's 'mapping' is no longer editable.
Have you applied the texture to the faces within the container, or onto the container itself?
A textured material applied onto a face can be adjusted [positioned/rotated/scaled/etc] using the right-click context-menu 'Texture' toolset that overlays it and has 'pins/tool-icons.
Later you can 'sample' any adjusted texture [using the Material Browser's 'eyedropper'] and then apply it onto other faces - keeping that adjusted 'mapping', this is a great time saver as you need only realign a few faces' textures to get a set that can be reused elsewhere - e.g. vertical, horizontal and raking grains... etc...

Hello thanks for replying, I have applied ['painted'] onto individual faces within 'containers' - groups. I have now manage to adjusted [positioned/rotated/scaled/etc] using the right-click context-menu 'Texture' toolset. But I have not managed to get the right-click context-menu 'Texture' toolset to show up on curves, could you tell me why?

If you mean faces with hidden lines in it by "curves", you can activate view -> hidden geometry and use the texture on one partial surface and sample it afterwards...

Why are you editing the dimensions of the material? Is it not already the correct size?

Repetition will (and must) occur if the material image isn't large enough to cover the face. For that reason short sections of wood grain generally do not make realistic-looking materials. I prefer images of whole boards such as in this image.

The narrow images don't show the full width of the image like the one on the right does.
