Fill a space randomly
-
Is there a script out there that will let you fill a defined space with a component(s) randomly? I have tried Component Sprayer but what I need is to fill a volume. Example. Fill a picture of water with ice cube components.

Hi Valero, maybe you can use the plugin Fur, insted grass, you can make it with your component.

One question, what use for your render, Artlantis?

you could try using sketchy physics for this.. (though you'll have to take the time to figure out how to use sketchy physics first )
put all the ice cubes above a container then drop them.. they'll bounce around etc and end up in random positions without overlapping each other..

Fill a "big box" of a little components cubes
Make an intersection = you have your volume completly filling
Now use the Random selection by Tig for erase some cubesAnother method If you want some different position of a same component in the space
Use the tricky Sdmitch Pilou 24 Positions(this will the "Source")
use it with some variation of orientation of the cube)
In fact no need to use it in your special case! Just take 3 orientions of a cube and use the plug follow
And the Tricky Random replacement of a component! (the "Target" will be the "big box intersected above)Another method with Sketchyphysics
Drop any objets (grouped) in your volume -

Yes Sketchyphysics is the more funy for make that!
(as i said as third possibily in my previous postExcept if the hole of the volume is very tiny!
So you must cut it and recap at the end -
That is ..... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
