Thea For SketchUp 1.0 (Preview video)
-
Now all we need is a SketchUp that can handle that instanced vegetation people are already so used to while working with Thea Studio!
-
Been playing with this for a week, love the stability and speed.
Another giant step for Thea.
Around 11mins, I love the instagram feel to the render by using the crf feature.
-
Great work Tomasz.

i am soooo excited by this!!! seeing stuff rendered once in a while when i get bored of the modelling is awesome!!! of course for the final renders i would use only the studio... but getting out quickie renders and awesome clay renders would be a breeze now! Heck... i wouldn't mind paying an upgrade fee for this plugin either!!!!
-
Ooooo--Looks Fantastic!
When SOMEONE hinted at this, I was hoping this was going to be on the scene soon. From this I wonder if a Mac version will even be out within a year....
-
For those already having Thea+SU plugin, there will be no "upgrade fees".
-
WOW even more reasons to move to Thea Render.
Development crew.....you are on FIRE
-
Nice work!

Are you sure? I see this as a totally different product. Maybe Tomasz can confirm this.
-
That's according to Giannis on the Thea forum.
-
Oh. You're right.
Yet another reason to thank the Thea team.
I'll keep this in my radar. -

Tomasz
I think all of us Thea/SketchUp addicts have been really anticipating this. This is fantastic news, and will make my, and many of our workflows so much more streamlined.
Thanks soooo much for all your hard work.
I purchased Thea days after it was first released, and I cannot believe the advances that have been made (all I should add at no additional cost above the original licenses).
What an awesome team. -
Now I only need to use studio if I have a scene that requires vegetation, I can render final images right in Sketchup, this truly is a game changer.
Image of a scene in SU on one monitor and SU/Thea on the second (dual 27" monitors, reduced size for posting)

Nice Solo!

Can someone tell me if Thea is faster then the Maxwell renderer? I bought Maxwell but its rendertimes are prehestoric (compared with C4d).
Thanks!!
-
Thea is way faster then Maxwell!
-
Another BIG + for Thea.
-
Great!
2 questions...
1 - will there be a limitation with the non 64 bit - similar to Twilight's choking under the 32 bit restrictions?
2 - Relight? Is that accessible through this new interface? -

So far in my testing, SU/Thea is limited to what SU can handle, other than that I have not seen any limits, however the solution to this is to export to studio when you are ready to add heavy poly models and it will export all your settings as you have in SU into studio.

Currently this is not yet included, but then again there are still so many things to be added I'm sure Tomasz has this in the plan.
