A Dingo! That's the Australia wild dog? Didn't know the were domesticated but no surprise, after all the are dogs. When you come to think of it, all dogs are only a step away from the wild. If my fella gets a smell of a rat, he's off, grab, crush, snap and the rat is a goner!

I've always had cats, but I now share my life with a previously feral Portuguese mongrel. As a cat person I've never really understood dogs, but this fella was going to bite the bullet (literally) if I didn't fake his death (it's a long story) and bring him back to the UK.

He's only about seven, but he's struggling at the moment with the consequences of a parasitic infection fom his days living rough. It looks like he will pull through but it's been a tough couple of weeks.

I'll post some pictures when I'm at my PC tomorrow. He looks like a bit like a Maltese Shih Tzu cross mixed with Jock running down that 'Rocky Road' - all tong and ears flapping with an underbite that makes him look like something from Where the Wild Things Are.

This is Alfie, our 8 month old Yorkie. This is an unusually sedentary pose (the only time you can actually photograph him). Most of the time he's a little dynamo and spends most of the time just whizzing around. I don't take him for walks; he takes me on forced marches...chasing after rabbits or racing off to play with other dogs that are a mere speck on the horizon. How he sees them from only six inches above the ground is a complete mystery.
He announces that he's up and ready for another day of fun at 6.30 sharp every morning...with a pretty fair imitation of a coyote.

Above, 1 month old. Not mine (I wish) just a friends. Is already growing a lot, apparently, already grown a month and is potty trained. Fed mostly on Goats milk although ate a lot of onion tonight, ๐Ÿ‘

Please be very careful, onions are toxic to dogs. Speak to your vet for details.
Would hate to see something happen to this cutie!

not so tiny but this is Pep, my 8 years old Labrador Retriever. on top of Pep, my son Nuno. they are best friends and Nuno does amazing things to Pep without ever eliciting an aggressive reaction. as everyone knows, retrievers are great for kids.

Pet pix...! How many millions would you like!? Here we have Izzie (Jack Russel/Border Collie - smart, obedient & a complete tart when her Daddy's around) sitting with her 'baby' Olly. In the absence of her own pup she adopted Olly & grooms him vigourously... which he adores! We also have Buddy (Cocker Spaniel - was supposed to be another JR, but I fell for him instead, even though he's the dumbest clown ever. And finally Sam (retriever - crazy young dog who found us too sedate for his lifestyle so moved in with another local labrador. It broke our hearts but was the best thing for him.

                      Couldn't resist ๐Ÿ˜„ This a great thread.

Here is our beloved "Karamel". She is a two year old Golden Retriever. She is very active and higly intelligent (figured out how to open the door by tugging on the handle by herself ๐Ÿ˜„ ).

She had a boyfriend over a couple of days ago. So hopefully we will have puppies soon. ๐Ÿ˜„

This is fantastic! Don't dogs bring out the best in people! While on my walks with Jock, I get to talk with people that I would never otherwise meet and get to know. And Jock also gets to meet new friends also. Its great fun watching the sniffing process!

Mike, My wife was the one that suggested getting a dog, her thinking was that I needed to get out of my chair and get some sun and exercise. Now I cannot imagine life without my dog, he is next to me at all times, from sitting on my lap while I work to riding shotgun whenever I go out on an errand. I have become that crazy dog guy that I laughed at in the past.

The only gnawing that Jock has ever done was to the skirting board corners in the Utility Rm where he sleeps. He is has been good with other things in the house.

In her defense though, apparently there was some kind of wood grub or something inside, making this constant ticking noise and eating away the wood. She just couldn't stand it! So she might have actually saved our house from an infestation. ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks Mike. Thankfully his medication has started to kick in and he's been tumbling around like a puppy again.

He's got loads of weird habits from his feral days: he tries to dig into rugs as if he was excavating a bed in the dirt. Up until recently he had to share the house with a cat so he mimics cat behaviour in order to get attention. Luckily he hasn't picked up the habit of biting cables - my last cat was always doing that and I've still got conduit pipe covering all my exposed cables.
