Did a God or Gods create the universe? EDITED

It seems like this debate has become the ultimate source of renewable energy and could easily replace petroleum, coal and other forms of stored solar/nuclear energy. The only down side is that it is all heat and no light, but free energy is free energy and the fact it does not die proves it is renewable. I think, like Elvis, God has left the building. Unfortunately so has Christoper Hutchins (or is it Hitchens?).
Its well known that architects are believers because both the phrases "god is in the details" and "The devil is in the details" originated with Architects.
Yeah, I know I capitalized Architects and not god. However, it is because when I
was small and someone referred to the "Creator," I thought they were talking about an architect.--Roger

May be a new question, did god creates humour?Good question! I recently read that it was thought only humans possessed the ability for humour but it seems this is not that case as chimps and dolphins also some other animals that I can't now remember do also. I often think that my dog shows some form of humour when he tries the get me to play with him!
Funny thing humour! It has kept me going in dark times!

The other day my dog comes in and says, "Descartes walks into a bar in France and the bartender asks if he would like a Bud Lite, Descartes says, "I think not" and poof Descartes disappeared."

So he didn't create humor. At least there is something god didn't create.
What is this? Humor.
How do you know all these cornel? -
Humour may be the work of the Devil. Mark Twain might agree.

In addition, He gives us the full and eternal joy, not an occasional one..., not just a little and temporary ...Ahhhh, come on Cornel! You must be joking! If, according to you, God created all things, he DID create humour! The jedeo-christian god of the Bible claims to have created man (Adam) in his own likeness!
Nearly all humans have some sense of humour .... but again, I often wonder about you at times Then again, I have a feeling you are actually pulling our leg a lot of the time

Watched an interesting TV interview of Richard Branson, an agnostic. During the interview he quoted Gandhi a number of times. Out of curiosity I did a quick search and found Gandhi's Views On God
http://www.gandhi-manibhavan.org/gandhiphilosophy/philosophy_god_god.htm Well worth the read.Richard Branson also mentioned that he was just back from a conference of The Elders, independent global leaders working together for peace and human rights. He also joked that if he was around Bishop Desmond Tuto for much longer he feels he might be converted and the thing he admires most about Desmond Tutu is his great sense of humor!
The Elders is also well worth checking out, http://www.theelders.org/

Yup, if there is a god, then he certainly gave us humour. If you think about it, humour is one of the few things we possess that other creatures can't really be said to. Other creatures certainly possess a sense of fun, but I'm not so sure they possess a sense of irony, sarcasm or self-deprecation. What they do possess is pretty much all our other attributes like happiness, anger, jealousy, hope, disappointment. It's unthinkable that the one thing we do possess that differentiates us from other creatures would not be god-given. If it wasn't, what use would he be?

How dull.
That's not how I read the Bible. -
"But You, O Lord, shall laugh at them; . . . " (Psalm 59:8, NKJV)
... or how about example (in the Bible) of Jesus' sense of humour. Not exactly Paddy the Irishman, Paddy the Englishman and Paddy the Scottish man jokes but never the less ..
How did Jesus use HUMOR to teach about God?
http://www.biblestudy.org/basicart/how-did-jesus-use-humor-to-teach-about-god.html -
Well, one thing we are now certain is that Cornel has no sense of humour

Jesus, 'Peter, you are the rock on which I shall build my church...'
A pretty weak pun on the fact that the name 'Peter' actually means 'rock' ! A connection we lost over time. But probably brought the house down in its time!!And of course God must have have a very weird sense of humor when designing love-making, basic-sex and the resultant child-birth - where the main bits you need to use are also used in eating/drinking/breathing/talking/urinating/etc and which are therefore also very near to the defecating parts too which hardly seems hygienic !

Ahhh ...... but surely evolution will in time, a long time, modify the location of these 'parts' if the people with parts in slightly better locations are 'favoured' and end up breeding more!
We have seen this before,
'Humanity may split into two sub-species in 100,000 years' time as predicted by HG Wells, an expert has said.' http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/6057734.stm
and the other side of the argument!
'Professor Steve Jones believes human evolution is over'
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1070671/Evolution-stops-Future-Man-look-says-scientist.html#ixzz1kwlg0KgZI don't think human evolution is over at all. Just looking at average height increase around the world shows that it is continuing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_height
But again, I believe that the max height a human could reach is in the region of 3m as the skeletal structure could not support a greater height.

I heard a comedian put it slightly different: "God must have been an engineer because he put our recreation and sewer departments in the same park just to save space."

In addition, He gives us the full and eternal joy, not an occasional one..., not just a little and temporary ...The Ten Commandments state GOD is a jealous god. And, there are instances of HIM being angry and vengeful. Yet, HE must have love, too, for HE "gave his only begotten son" for us. How can you claim he doesn't have playful or comic emotions when he has displayed a range of other emotions?
If HE didn't have a sense of humor, how do you explain people? Is there a more ridiculous animal on the planet?

zygmunt freud's quotes? An egoist then?
OK then, to call a god 'egoist', any god, it's somehow...
