Emailing a sketchup model drawing
-
In what form can I send a drawing so that anyone can open the file the other end without the recipient having sketchup?
-
JPG, PNG, PDF, etc.
-
On both PC and Mac there's a SketchUp viewer they could download if sent a .skp.
On Mac if saved as collada (.dae) it can open those without needing anything installed.
-
Thank you for trying but the Save As option does not allow me to save in any of the known files such as pdf, png etc.
-
Thank you for being condescending.

You don't use Save as for those exports. You use File>Export for that. Save and Save as are only for saving SKP files.
-
Here is a free viewer you can link to in your email.

Thank you (he says condescendingly) very much for that. Saving as a dae file did not work, but File>Export then choosing 2D not 3D enabled me to export it as a jpeg. It is so quick and easy to rotate different views and closeup detail work.
