If you mean how do you animate?
Then I reply - animate what? scenes, views, objects, images etc...
There are many techniques and several 3rd party tools to help you 'animate' different aspects of your SKP... what is it you seek?? -

It would seem to me, based on your question about extruding around a curve, you need to learn to walk before you can run.

By looking at the vast majority of questions, it appears that the most underused SketchUp menu is the last one on the right, namely the Help Menu.
I would strongly advise you to try it, more precisely the second menu item labeled Help Center.
When in the help center, type **animation **in the search field on the upper part of the page and press the RETURN key.
You shall have enough reading for a while and then, if your animation needs are not covered, search this web site (SkecthUcation) to see if anyone has posted about animation. I bet that you will find a lot of threads about this vast subject. For example, I just used the Search field at the top right of this page and typed animationin it. I got 5303 results. Of course, not all these posts contain explanations but it is a fairly good start.
Finally, if you still have no answer, feel welcome to come back here to find more specific help.
