Realtime shadows test

Indeed it looks great. I'm sure you will take care of those shadow jagginess?
And it would be super cool to be able to change time of day with a slider in the player.
Next LightUp version will be great I'm sure. -
And just for completeness, nighttime version with IES lighting (and showing the realtime lightmeter for checking light levels).

Looking great Adam, nice to see how Light up is progressing all the time.

Joking aside it's very impressive and inticing. I must give the trial a spin.
-
That looks really cool, when is this update expected?, and if purchased now, will this update be free?

Cosy bar with a lot of celebrities!

You're on fire Adam. LightUp has received some very impressive updates recently!
What is the stats for that model btw?
How accurate is the lux meter? (if you model a real room - how close do you get?)

It will be part of LightUp v2.2 which will be out real soon. Its a free update for LightUp users, so no need to delay that purchase

How accurate is the lux meter? (if you model a real room - how close do you get?)Thanks thomthom. Some neat stuff coming later too..
The lux meter measures direct illumination and is exact wrt how light works. It doesn't measure indirect lux which can have effect - however once you start digging into light simulation there are so many simplifying assumptions already, I question whether this much of an issue in practice. Certainly for large open spaces such as warehouses etc its a complete non-issue.
The light meter can also measure Insolation - the amount of energy from the sun a surface receives - based on Geolocation, orientation, and time of year.

Impressive. Most impressive.
I guess shadow jaggies will become smooth in final output, right?
Will this update include the "localized" irrcaches?
Looks like I'll soon be feeling the urge to re-render some of my LightUp videos...

Looks superb, I havent considered Lightup before but I will definately check it out after seeing those videos.
