Get FireFox 4 now....
-
I'm on Chrome, but I'll give it a swing.
-
It was hard for me to go on chrome, but now I can't get a solid reason to try FF. If you try FF4, please post feedback and maybe arguments why one should use it. No, I don't want to transform this into a campaign, just interested in advantages from a objective point of view.

I like Chrome, too, however I am using some plugins/extensions for FF therefiore I do not really want to switch.
I also had FF 4 Beta but then I reverted back to my older one. Some extensions do not work (yet), my custom menus always got reverted to some default and they got rid of the status bar where I have some plugins running ATM (as well as the load status or what that they said to have put elsewhere but I could never find).
So I am not sure I like this new version.

Ah! another Opera fan as I am. Tom I find the Notes very handy while surfing but would like to be able to save them automatically! Any thoughts?
Sorry Mike, I haven't got as far as the notes, yet. Can't you use Services?
Up until yesterday I was using Camino (which is essentially Firefox for Mac only, as it has been built in Cocoa and built on and by Mozilla). But I've recently started to play with Opera, got that going on our TV PC, alongside Chrome. Opera is a far better browser than Chrome on a PC imho. Chrome though, does have its own built-in flash player (which strangely is a lot less buggy than the Adobe one- I don't quite get this!

Firefox coupled with LastPass and Xmarks is all you need for total browsing management. While Chrome surpassed Firefox lately, this release is a massive forward step. The initial change to the UI is off-putting but if you view the tips n' tricks you'll get some killer info.
All I'm suggesting is you give it a try and see if like it.
-
Looking forward to giving it a whirl.... thanks guys!
-
I use FF4 and it is much faster than its predecessors - I like it...
There are some minor annoyances - my favorite theme and some of my favorite add-ons are not compatible [yet]... but these will come along shortly I'm sure. -
I have been a fan of FF for years. I am looking forward to using this upgrade but there are already a couple things that are odd.
One the SketchUcation board index is different now. It is more stretched out. Almost like FF is using a different font that has a larger distance between lines of text. If it is so smart, why not detect what font I had... I don't remember that.
The biggest thing I see that bugs the crap out of me (and this happens with many programs) is the Getting Started introductions, specifically the Meet Firefox page. Look at the attached image. My browser window does not look like the one they show. WTF? I just installed it, why the difference?
The Firefox Menu Button and Bookmarks Button are not there. I am sure I can configure them to look like that but why show something that does not install right out of the box?End of Rant.
Honestly, I am looking forward to the upgrade.
And thanks Rich.

Thanks for the heads-up.
But to my shame I admit that IΒ΄ve downgraded to previous version for the same reasons Gaieus mentioned. -

One of the biggest complaints people make about Firefox is, luckily, one of the biggest improvements in Firefox 4: its speed.
which should then continue:

Until you load a new design Gawker site, then the speed gain is negated by our site design. (If it indeed loads for you at all.)

LOL - yeah you right!;) I've been swamped with work and organizing a New Beetle show in Roswell, NM for this summer...so not much time to enjoy the forums and extra stuff.
Had a couple days where I wasn't swamped and it has been nice checking out the forums again. -
I tried out FF RC2 recently and was disappointed to find some of my fave extensions were not compatible, but I guess they will be updated in time.
In the end though I completely uninstalled it - something I thought I would never do as I was a confirmed FF addict. What put me off was not the new UI or anything but simply that in a direct comparison with Chrome to load the same website, one I visit quite often, it was unbelievably slow . Chrome had the site rendered in no time at all yet FF took ages. I know this was still just RC2 but it was near enough the finished version. I have been looking forward to FF4 for a while but have been disappointed with it`s performance. So Chrome it is for now. -
I used fire fox to 7 years
I do not change form 7 years -
I installed it last night. Similar problems with incompatible add-ons, but so what. Opened it up... nothing, no internet connection. IE connected, Chrome connected, but not FF4! I tried rebooting. Nothing. I tried a suggestion I found online about proxy settings. Nothing.

Well, maybe this is why FF4 is so fast!! Because it doesn't need internet connection everything you want is on localhost
