All SU.. almost

Trying to see how far I can go with SU only and my time and ability. I think it serves the purpose. Thanks to Darrell Smith for the plants, which didn't bog me down too much. You can see I did not go too far afield for textures and entourage. But I hope I'll collect some more things as I go. I did only one thing in an image editor, rippled the water. Any thoughts are welcome.
[Uploaded an update. Added art. Adjusted view to see more ceiling in reflection. That required me to adjust more in the editor because apparently image textures don't act the same as other materials in SU transparency (too dark under the water). OK that's all.Quit]

I love the fog in the background trees, you have a nice style ^^

Thank you, Karina. The site is notorious for fog, off and on, so that was an easy way to deal with the background in SU.
James, I used Pixlr editor, and the "water swirl" filter. Then I used the bloat tool to make the edge wavy and add a few more reflection distortions. This second part leaves artifacts that you can see in the water along the pool edge. Not the best.

Very compelling image and style. I'll have to have a look at Pixlr, thats a nice effect.

I like it.
It's almost three styles with the fog background, the SU middle and the edited foreground. -
Very pleasing to look at.

Yes, definitely a nice one. We have been carried away with PR renders too much lately and can rarely see and appreciate pure SU output nowadays although very nice things can be achieved indeed!

Thanks to all for the kind words! I'm not ready yet for real rendering. I guess the point for me was keeping it simple and not getting over my head in PP, and still get something presentable for the scale of the project. I find that this sort of simple structure needs a 3d picture.

Yes . By Darrell Smith, I believe, 2.5D as you can probably tell. I think it was called big oak tree. Will check when I get back to the computer next week and let you know if wrong .
