Both the links that Gaieus just posted go back to this very page for me
The links I posted in my edit thread here http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=349570#p349570 do work however...The links/anchors work fine it's just your posted links are wrong - Csaba look at the thread id it's this one ???
For example this is mine link http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=250026#TIG -
OK so it seems it's better to post with the post number (P=) rather than the topic number (T=).
So this would work (I know you have some unusual display order setting...)?
http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=250026#thomthom(I think that's what Dan was trying to explain to me, too...)
-
That new link to thomthom's list now works [for me at least]!
At last it works!
You can just right-click over the anchor-link e.g. 'TIG' in the original post and get the link - it copies the full-code that you can then use - no need to worry about constructing it - and it links to the anchor itself within the post too... -
It should work for everyone (I hope) even for weirdos like you
-
What are ye on about? Will I need to use these?
-
No. It's just to make Jim happy.
-
Jim explained on the Anchor thread why these are useful. So, thanks to those involved to adding extra functionality to the forums.

At last it works!TIG.. there was another topic recently, (openURL w/anchor on mac,) where a user was complaining that FireFox (on OSX,) didn't handle # in urls correctly.
I posted the link to the FF bug forum, where you can search for "anchor", and get quite a few hits, where users are complaining of bugs.@tig said:

Yes this is what I was trying to say.. create the anchor first, then use it's link, to go and set a url jump "from" link.
-
Yay for anchors. I've wished for this - but strangely kept my mouth shut....
-
FireFox works just fine with the # anchor tags... it was the Csaba's link was constructed [and in that I display posts in reverse chronological order so the first one is the most recent]. When the anchor-link is properly formed, so to looks to the very post itself and not to that post's thread, then it all works fine
-
Agreed... and being sure the post number is in the url, should eliminate conflicts with same named anchors in the same thread.
-
Jim,
Thanks again for the updates.

so many plugins available. most of them works like miracles.
might be quite confusing for someone like me as newbie.
is it possible to also look for them in order of certain term?
like Pull-Push, Rotate-Mirror, Texture-Map, etc. -

like Pull-Push, Rotate-Mirror, Texture-Map, etc.Good idea, and something I've been thinking about trying. There are technical and social hurdles that so far have prevented implementation. How would you organizer the plugins?

maybe categorize as
architecture
organic
structure
edge editing
or maybe like autocad categorizing like drawing, modeling , um?

Jim pls explain again what your "sniffer" can look at?
-
I think this one site has a good file structure, Jim...

Currently, it reads the Plugins Forum, extracts topics titles containing /^[Plugin]/i along with the username of the topic.
Adding category info to the title isn't going to work so well since the title field has a limited length, so any category info is going to have to go in the first post using some convention (similar to the [Plugin] convention.)

according to this SketchUp Plugin Reviews site, there's a plugin called Construction Line Tool by Jim and the site classify it as Essential Plugins.
but, i cannot find it anywhere here. any hints? thank you. -
If you click your first link, then click the Large Red download button you will find it there called clinetool.zip
