Fredo / TIG,
Thanks very much for the replies from both of you.
As suspected (for now) closed polylines must be broken up before processing (whichever tool is used) - but its not too painful.
......................
Keep up the good work with your EXCELLENT scripts.
Hugely appreciated by all.

This looks like a very powerful plugin & Im amazed at how fast things are developping. It certainly looks like it will improve the possibilities of more organic modelling.
Will this plugin be FREE or a commercial item upon release?
Do you have an ETA?
Does the created surface act as a normal SU surface allowing you to push pull edit vertices etc?Ive got one eye keenly focused on this development
-
Perfect work, thanks!

The surface generated are pure SU, as a combination of edges and faces, encpasulated within a group. You can do whatever you like with it with all SU tools.

I will add my kudos to the long list too. It seems to me that 2010 is really shaping up to be the year of awesome plugins.
Wonder, if we should do a top 10 plugins at the end of each year based on comments and downloads?

This Curviloft tool looks so so nice, I'm way to excited, I can hardly wait. I have been thinking ever since you scripter wizards have been creating these awesome tools for SketchUp. Why Google has not purchased them up and integrated them into the software? Fredo I can hardly wait

Me too.. Me too..

Looking forward to this one! Looks like it is much easier to use than the Soap Skin and Extrude Edges set.

I decided to release the script under Open Beta Program, even if it is not fully functional and debugged.
The reason is that it may take me a while to finish it due to other commitments.By Open Beta program, I mean that it is open to all users, but everyone has to be aware of limitations and potential crashes before using it.
As usual, it is highly recommended to save your work before exercising the script. Bugsplats are always possible and never far!
In the first release Curviloft 1.0a (with LibFredo6 3.5a), only Loft by Spline is almost fully functional. Loft Along Path and Skinning still suffers from many limitations, missing features and bugs. Also, for these two functions, it is preferable to use the Manual selection mode.
In case you encounter problems, limitations or have suggestions, please post in the present thread. I will try to advise on what can be fixed or is planned already.
Again, this is a BETA version, not documented and not fully functional.
