How to disable sounds

This is new for me: context menu choosing and picks now elicit sounds (ping, ding, ching). I can't find the setting to disable it. doesn't seem to be an OS thing; I generally turn all sounds off in progs and Windows. Might it be tangled with a newly installed plugin?

Do you have some "housebuilder" plugin installed lately?

If so edit the file with Notepad and find/replace every instance of UI.beep or UI::beep with #UI.beep or #UI::beep so no more 'beeps'...

Can you post that file when done, so a lazy ass like me can just replace my file with your modified one?
I also have those annoying sounds.

Of the three .rb's, HouseBuilder, HouseBuilder_extension and HouseBuilderTool, only the latter had either of the culprits (UI.beep).
When I get verification of the results I'll post it for you, Solo, if you still lay claim to that status. Seems to me this is naughty and probably unintentional behavior by the routine, to make ripples extending beyond when it is explicily invoked(?). -

Tim was also troubled by the beeps and rewrote the script here.
It's the very last post that has the .rb file. I haven't tried it but just remember when he posted!
