What does your nickname mean, and why do you use it?
-
Boo was my wife's cat.
Fred was my cat.
Lay is my last name.I use it because it was the first email account I ever created for my family. It stuck and has followed me everywhere.
My avatar is usually changing all the time. Recently they have been from Dmitry Maksimov, you can see his work here:

Your daugther's name is Pull Me Up ? That's what it is translated from its Italian origin.

Aiduss originaly it was taken from mythology god called Aeetes this is also some sort of butterfly's.
My first nickname was hellraiser but then I have changed it to this name and now all my frends call me in this name Why aiduss - I can't explain that I just feel comfortable with that nick -
Panga is my nickname in my second life in capoeira.
-
Oh my goodness - better not mess with Panga!
-
Frederik - is my second "first name"...
I chose Frederik because I know in many countries Kim is often a female name (although it's also used as a male name in the same countries) and to avoid any confusions (misunderstandings), I decided to use Frederik... -
kim,
you forgot to explain your avatar! afraid of being sued for child abuse?
-
my nickname is, you guessed, my given name. not a lot of creativity there...
as for my avatar, it is a good picture of me taken by a student during a lecture. that is, good compared to the horrible results one gets when posing for a photograph.
-
Well Dale is my first name. Although it can be male or female, in this case "it's a boy"
The avatar is a photo of a painted wood carving I did taken from a photo in front of my house. It's a raven on the cliffs edge with a small pocket cruise ship on the water below. -
My last name is Perkis. Since my first name is Jeff and there is ALWAYS another Jeff around my friends have been calling me Perk ever since I can remember.
-
My current avatar is cropped and animated from this Dali wonderment - his thinking machine
-
Lol Gaieus...but in capoeira each nickname has a signification, so don't be afraid, I'm a peacefull guy !!
-
remus is just my first name, not very common so its usually available on forums and such.
-
I actually got more than a thumb that went numb when I was suffering from repetitive strain injury, which stopped me from using my PC for a while.
At least it makes a perfect rhyme.
Not sure if I could find one for low back pain
As for the avatar: I found it on the Explodingdog site http://www.explodingdog.com/
( hope itยดs not copyrighted ). That funny character having hard time over some impossible shape seemed quite OK. -

Ooohhh yeah... Sorry about that...
My avatar... Well, it's really simple... It's a smoking baby...
Can't remember where I found it, but I thought it was "funny" and took it...
Although I'm smoking cigarets in real life, it's nothing special - really... -
My anickname [to use its old-English form as 'other-name'] is my initials T+I+G .
I was called that from ~5 at junior school - someone older than me had the same first-name [out of 7 pupils ! what's the chance !!]
Later, I kept it up and signed all my manual-drawings and letters with my initials - so it stuck...
Also near to where I was born the local Army Regiment [of my grandfather] and the Rugby Football team were/are the Tigers; and of course tigers are strong/fierce/powerful/potent etc etc... [or cute/funny if 'tigger'...] - it has little 'downside' except for becoming extinct !!!
I prefer it to my 'real name' - which is a bit 'naff' - BUT my mum [see 'Brief Encounter' lead for a clue...] and close family would still use my original name - as would one of my old-fashioned bosses years ago who wouldn't allow nicknames... I'll answer to almost anything... -
My nickname story ...
I'm an architect, I live and do a fair amount of work in the Sierra Nevada mountains (we live about 1-1/2 hours from the Yosemite Valley floor), so ... MtnArch!
