Can you open the Ruby Console and try to use CleanUp? See if you get any error messages.
-
clean with last settings works
the first option in which the menu should come "clean..." doesnt work. no error messages. iget the same blank box
all the options accessed via the drop down menu are taking my command. the first one in which the black menu comes isn't working. what is the conflict?

The window works as well?
Then it must be something in the way it was unpacked in your original folder.
I see that in the HTML list you have that you had aTT_Lib2 - 2.5.5.zip
- what is the version of TT_Lib2 you had installed in your main plugin folder? The latest is 2.6.0 - and CleanUp 3.1.8 requires at least TT_Lib 2.5.8.From the HTML list you sent there seemed to me some unusual files in your plugins folder. I saw several files with same name, but in .rb and. rbs format. Looked very odd. And there was a set of ui.html, ui.js and ui.css in the root plugins folder, which also looks very unusual. Normal convention is that any additional file is located within a subfolder. So I wonder if you might have a few rouge files in your plugin folder that might need cleaning up.
Btw, are you running Vista or Windows7? There has been some issues where files copied to the plugins folder has ended up in a compatibility folder - casing problems. In which case you should see a "Compatibility Files" button in Explorer when you browse the plugins folder.
-
I see you also have files such as:
extensions.rb
sketchup.rbThese are files that comes with SketchUp and they should be in the Tools folder. I think there might have been a time where they did come in the Plugins folder, but that's a while back. So if you have copied your plugins folder every time you have upgraded SketchUp you have dragged along these old files. And that means that SU loads the old versions you have in the Plugins folder instead of the more recent ones in the Tools folder.
Your plugins folder definitely needs some cleaning up.

well i didnt delete those files..just deleted ttlib and ttlib2 folders, reinstalled from the net and cleanup is working fine now

TT_Lib - version 1.x - is only related to Selection Toys. TT_Lib2 does not replace it.
But you really should clean up your plugins folder - as them files I mentioned should not be there and can cause issues.

Keep your Internet Explorer updated. While you might not use IE as a browser, the IE Engine is embedded into the system. Many applications make use the the IE engine for various reasons - such as SketchUp that uses it for WebDialogs. IE6 is dead - and MS is aggressively phasing out any older versions of IE. They will soon start to auto update users. As of version 9 IE becan to catch up with other browsers and with the coming IE10 they will have done a great leap. This means that we( developers ) can make more powerful thing. But to do so we must be able to ignore these older versions of IE - they are a royal pain in the rear end. I've had my share of IE frustrations as a former webdeveloper - but I still suffer from it as I make webdialogs UI for SketchUp plugin. But I'm dropping support for older IE version - I really do not have the time to address them.
Another reason to keep your IE up to date is that it makes your system more secure considering how integrated the IE engine is into the OS. So just make life easier for yourself and us developers and keep your IE up to date.

i see. thank you Thomas.
btw, i only have IE 7 and 8 at the moment. which one would you suggest to install?
with XP SP3 i'm afraid i cannot follow IE 9? -
Update to the latest version available. That's best practice with any kind of software as it ensure you have all the fixes available for you.
