[Plugin][$] RoundCorner - v3.4a - 31 Mar 24
-
thanks a lot Great plugin!!
-
This plugin looks great, but I'm running into a problem here. I have a rather simple triangulated mesh and need to bevel the edges before running it through Subdivide and Smooth. However, the script seems to stop around 6%, yet still says computing.
Any ideas?

Post your skp file

Hmm, I attached the file, but something messed up. Here it is.

[attachment=1:uzwl37lk]<!-- ia1 -->BL-141SOF-002.skp<!-- ia1 -->[/attachment:uzwl37lk]I found the bug, which explains why the scripts stops. In your case, you can however exit the tool.
Beyond that, you are in case where RoundCorner would not function very well, because of the triangulation. This is one of the limitations mentioned at the end of the documentation.
I attach here the result which is not very good for some edges, so that you can judge.

Thanks for taking a look at this for me. While I may not be able to use your script on this particular model, I can see many uses elsewhere. I appreciate the hard work that you and others have put into these scripts and for your time in answering questions. Guys like you have really turned SketchUp into something great. Thanks again!

Fredo, I echo the sentiment of all the grateful users who benefit from your talent and selfless dedication. Many thanks for this!

Excellent plugin! My router is going to be jealous...

Hi, I install RoundCorner, but I'm unable to access it in SketchUp. When I click on Tools>FredoScale noting happens.
I also get no response when I click on Set Preference Languages.I'm using Vista
Thanks for the help.

I made two round corner model Yesterday, today.
I want two same shape of rondcorner model but It is not working out.
Working conditions were the same as the shape ..
What's wrong?
I dont want small triangle particles at all in very right model.
You mean It happens becasue the edge is not aligned, I think I aligned it
would like to tell me why and how? -
Hi Fine,
Can you delete those edges without losing the faces?
It's not necessarily there because you did not align your model but maybe because the newly created facets would not be co-planar otherwise. In any case, after smoothing those surfaces, it won't be seen (but I understand that you wish to have the least geometry and cleanest possible model)

2D round corner is ? plugin , something ?
-
See TIG's 2D Tools.
Or fillet one corner with arc, mirror copy the others. -
my instal TIG 2D TOOLS bad no i managed ...?
-
Try this Adrian, it's called "2D fillet".
-
A Fillet Tool should be a first-class plugin for Sketchup. What I mean is it should have a spot in the Tools menu, have a clear purpose, meet user's expectations for a native Tool, and be a stand-alone plug-in separate from dependencies.
I know several plug-in suites have a fillet feature, but I think would be better to borrow the best functionality from them all and create a dedicated feature out of them.
Sorry to go off-topic.

You can also try BezierSpline 1.3and convert your rectangle and other polylines to have round corners.
See post at http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=13563&hilit=plugin#p100509
-
select the rectangle (contour with surface is fine)
-
call the contextual menu Convert to... > Polyline Arc Corner
-
You are prompted for the Radius of the corners
-
Your contour will be rounded at the corners and become a curve
-
you can change the number of segments of the corner by typing a Precision number followed by 's' (this is the number of segment for a full circle, by default 24)
-
You can later chang'Ee the Radius and Precision with the BezierSpline Edit tool (also in contextual menu when selecting the contour 'Edit Polyline Arc Corners')
