well... keep in mind that I am on a Mac... and I think, that IrfanView is PC only
try seashore:
http://seashore.sourceforge.net/index.php
it's based on gimp but doesn't require X11... it's simpler than gimp too but it will do the overlays that these guys are talking about.
[EDIT] and here's the link to download the latest version of sketchyphysics for mac..

.

hey... when I try and play the SletchyPhysics the cube automatically deforms. Can anyone tell me why??
-
Do you have intersecting objects? I think you'd have better luck making Sketchy Physics ignore the little plastic pieces that keep the cubelets together. This way the cube should stay together until it hits the ground or another static object.
-
ye... that is it... 1 more thing... I made the center piece 1 component. But when it hits the floor it goes half trough. What about that?
-
Mmmm... try making each of the 5 parts of the center piece a separate group, not a component, and then grouping them all together.
-
The simulation should work like this:

Nice video!!! well... i have done all that, but when I press play it is still deformed
can you maybe send me the model that you have made??
-
Sure, I did it in Sketchy Physics 1, not sure if it will work if you have another version installed.
I used WinRAR to compress it because the ZIP file was almost twice the size.
If you don't have WinRAR installed,

By the way, this is a really nice introduction to SketchyPhysics:
http://sketchyphysicstutorial.googlepages.com/And don't forget to visit the SP sub-forum. Lots of SP geniuses over there. I'm almost as new as you to Sketchy Physics.

...That, or export to jpg, and find a program that can put them all into a video. (I still can't find one...)
-
I downloaded a MacRar... or something... well I am getting the hang of this, but I don't know why I cant export it into a video. The options I get are: Skp, Png and Jpg...
How did you get it into a video?? Maybe with a screen cam??
PS: I spotted another problem... because the small pieces on the Cubies are set to Ignore, when they hit the ground, they go strait trough... What can I do about that??
-
I didn't find any program like that. The animation it self is quite nice. That plugin ROCKS

Yes, there's that problem with the cubelets. As I said, I'm as new as you to SketchyPhysics. Actually, I followed the tutorial a couple days ago just to be able to break this cube. I was using SP1 but I think in SP3 there's something called "breakable joints" that could prove useful in this case.

You can make a video from a JPG sequence with VideoMach.

There's always Bootcamp.

never .. i wouldn't want any of that junk on my system
Snapz, Screenium, iShowU, are a few of the better screen capture apps.. Jing has a free version.
with quicktime, you can make a video out of sequenced jpegs...
-
yeah... I used IShowU... now here is the video:

Now se the problem with ignoring the pieces??
-
It's hard to notice if you don't know that beforehand. In fact, I didn't notice it.
But if you want to do it right, I recommend asking the geniuses in the SketchyPhysics sub-forum. I'm a newbie
By the way, the video looks really good!
-
TY... this was a massive first for me... first time ever working with SketchyPhysics, first time ever working with IShowU, first time ever working with IMovie and first time ever posting a video on YouTube
