Fredo will reply definitively, in due course...

However, I suspect that it is the user-name which is causing the issues...
        "Fırat Aneyzi"
I guess it is Turkish - where the non-dotted "ı", as opposed to the final dotted "i", is used for the "uh" sound, instead of the "ee" sound...
But using proper UTF8 encoding [as Fredo does?] should trap for such things [we know that older SketchUp versions failed because of this non-standard characters, but the newer version are much more robust !]

        Fredo ???

I don't think this is the username, except for old versions of SU.

Sometimes, Sketchup cannot read the rbs/rbe file. This seems to come from an installation done without adminsitrator rights.
In general, a reinstallation of SU would solve the problem.

            Thanks Fredo.
            Perhaps the odd-characters in the user-name are a "red-herring".

            For the avoidance of doubt...

On a PC the only correct way to install any application like SketchUp...

Close that version of SketchUp, if necessary.***
You must then find the SketchUp installer's exe file - it's usually in your "Downloads" folder.
            Select its icon.
            Right-click > Context-menu >
            "Run as administrator"
            When prompted choose "Repair".
            Let it complete the installation.
When you restart SketchUp it should work properly.

***If it's a new installation [e.g. you have previously uninstalled it, or it's just brand-new] the offered installer's option will just be "Install"...

I suspect it's to do with your Windows user name [ali yönder] containing some invalid character [likely the 'ö'].
Ruby must be given UTF-8 encoded text strings.
I'm sure that Fredo's code will attempt to force every string's encoding into an acceptable format.
Clearly it's failing in your case...
What is your normal system encoding ?
                                  Perhaps Fredo can comment...

The other similar post's issue is again almost certainly because of the 'langue coréenne' user-name encoding...

This is related to the encoding of ENV["xxx"] variables, where LibFredo6 does try to convert them to UTF-8.

Could you open the Ruby console and type sequentially

                                    • a = ENV["LOCALAPPDATA"]
                                    • b = a.force_encoding("UTF-8")
                                    • b.encoding (should return UTF-8)

                                    Can you also type

                                    • c = LibFredo6.get_dir_from_ENV("LOCALAPPDATA")
                                    • c.encoding (should return UTF-8)

Thanks to report if there are errors.

                                    Fredo

                                      • c = LibFredo6.get_dir_from_ENV("LOCALAPPDATA")
                                      • c.encoding

to ruby console, but it has failed again 😞

Try this slightly different way, which sidesteps reading in the frozen system string...

                                        puts a = ENV["LOCALAPPDATA"]**+""** puts b.encoding puts b = a.force_encoding("UTF-8") puts b.encoding

Fredo needs to fix his coding, once we get to the bottom of this issue...

                                          Apparently ENV["LOCALAPPDATA"] is not defined.

Could you type in the Ruby console

                                          ENV["LOCALAPPDATA"].inspect

@TIG: indeed, in LibFredo6 code, I duplicate the original string before forcing encoding. Just forgot this detail here.

So whenever any of us intend to use a 'frozen reference' we need to use something like:
                                            a = ENV["LOCALAPPDATA"]+""
to make a copy of it to work on 😉
