Help.....I've tried numerous times to install LibFredo6 with no success. I've followed the instructions. I can see the folder and .rb file in my plugins folder but I can find nothing in the windows setting of SU. I've also attempted to install FredoScale and RoundCorner with no luck at all.
I'm running SU 8 on a Mac.
I'm new to the forum and am just delving into the world of plugins (which I am VERY excited about).
I appreciate any help. I know it's probably just one little thing I'm doing wrong. Thanks,

Assuming you have correctly installed the files/subfolder-of-files in the MAC's plugins folder?
You haven't told us where you think that is (clue: it ought to be the 'HD' plugins folder and not the 'user' one)... also have your definitely installed everything as explained in the download notes ??
Assuming that step is right... have you activated the tools under Preferences > Extensions?
Once they are activated their toolbars become available for activation and sub-menus/items are added to the 'Fredo' submenu under the 'Tools' menu too...
Some folder screenshots etc might help if you are still stuck fast... -
I've tried to get this to work for a few days now and I can't figure it out. I've removed the libfredo6 v34 from my plugins folder and added v47. Sketchup keeps giving me this error: 'Module RoundCorner requires LibFredo6 version greater than 37. Current version is 34'. I've even uninstalled sketch up, deleted my plugins folder & reinstalled a clean version. Not sure whats wrong here. Any ideas? Thanks. -Joe

Juuuust figured this out - for some reason my new OS was hiding my user library folder. Sketchup reads both the user and the HD plugin folders but it seems to favor the user folder when there is a duplicate file. I ended up consolidating into one plugin folder on my HD and now all my magnificent Fredos work perfectly.
Hope this helps someone making the same silly mistake.

Having trouble installing this. Says I have files in wrong place. followed example in the instructions or so I thought.

So you might want to hold off installing anymore plugins until you get this sorted out. Are you using Windows 7? If so, the most likely issue is a lack of sufficient privileges to that folder. Open the Plugin folder's properties and under Security, change the permissions you you have full read and right permissions. Then reinstall the plugin files making sure you maintain the file structure as shipped in the ZIP file. Restart SketchUp and we'll go from there.

Yes... Read the last ten or twenty posts...
These kinds of errors are almost always because the OP has not installed the files/subfolders correctly, although it is quite clearly explained on the tool's download page... Check the files'/subfolders' "footprint" are as illustrated...
OR alternatively you simply can't add them to the 'plugins' folder because they haven't got sufficient permissions to add files to that folder - if so fix the permissions and retry...
If you do get 'error-messages' then it's pointless keeping them to yourself when asking for help [actually worse than useless because it annoys the very people who might be able to help you otherwise], the error-messages very reason for being is to pass on information, so that someone may have some clues about what's wrong... many error messages are so obvious that we look at them and say, 'do this to fix it...'; however, in this case even without the messages I'd bet money on it being one or both of the above causes -
great intsalled properly (after i did it wrong) and working fine

Had you recently added another tool?
That could be clashing with this - which is stable in its own right ?? -

That could be clashing with this - which is stable in its own right ??didnt add anything...not install or something (but windows had updated self)
yesterday worked with default skp. without any plugins.
hm interesting but today after renaming back libfrerdo, skp start's fine, -
thank you. very much appreciated

Lots of problems extracting from the .zip plus Adobe cannot open the documentation.
I finally got the extraction but Adobe is still Not Responding.
Windows 8 x64

Ralph, what are you using for your ZIP extraction tool? The thing that came with Windows? If so, download and install 7zip and use that instead. It'll respect and maintain the file structure in the ZIP file when you extract the files to the Plugins folder.
what happens when you try to open the PDF documentation? Do you get any error messages?
-
Alternatively... you have v8... so get Thomthom's SimplePluginsInstaller tool [from the SCF Plugins Index] - needs v8M2+... install that from its RBZ and then you'll get a new Plugins menu tool that lets you auto-install any ZIP/RBZ/RB/RBS archibes/files without such issues - unless of course you have other problems with security=permission on the Plugins folder [should be 'FULL' - so check and fix those if needed]...

today my windows updated itself, and now sketchup crashes on startup.
removing plugins one by one showed that only removing LibFredo will enable sketchup to run.

i have this crashing problem too( today
-
Same here. I reinstalled Sketchup, and then started adding plugins one by one. I've even downloaded the latest versions of some plugins that i didn't update before thinking it may solve the problem.
It is definitely a problem with Fredo6 plugins
