Hi, I get bugsplat with SU7 when trying to get this round edge by bezier to work. I tried a 100in cube test and still a splat. Would it be like the issue with round corners. Is anyone else having issue with SU7? Love your work. Just would like to see it work for myself. πŸ˜•

Are you referring to RoundEdge or to RoundCorner?
Do you have a model on which you get this systematic crash?

      Thanks

      Fredo

Dear Fredo, the issue with Round Edges by Bezier. Attached is a SU7 file where the crash occurs. I'm unable to load this file because extension skb not allowed. I'm happy to email it to you.

Rename it .skp and it'll upload OR 'zip' it... πŸ’

Or why not upload the .skp instead?

Should this plugin be marked as 'obsolete', or maybe 'deprecated' in favor if this one:

Fredo: do we need these old versions around? I see several times people refering to these older versions without being aware of the newer ones. Can't we just shut them down and direct to the latest?

                  Tom,

We could remove previous versions in the general case. However, for RoundEdges by Bezier, the situation is a little bit differenet. It is not the same script as RoundCorner, and it does perform better the sharp junction with numerous edges (more than 5). Anyway, I already put a redirection to RoundCorner in the top message.

I know this one works better for a lot of thing on the Mac...

I found round edges from this post to work fine on my Mac SU 7, but now whenever I click in the drawing, for example to exit a group, the round edges dialog box comes up! Have to uninstall, I guess.

[Edit: but, yes, Thank you! for the plug-in as it did do what I needed and very rapidly.]

I'm fairly new-ish to Sketch-up (I'm just getting into the plugins). It's amazing how far these incredible plugins and their writers have taken Sketchup. I'm sure Round Edge is common-place among you sketch-masters, but.. wow. Just wow.

To round edges, I would suggest you rather use RoundCorner, which is more recent and does all and more that the old RoundEdge script.

Hi, how can we have rounded edges with various radius on different edges?
Also when 2 or more connected edges have already been rounded, but are linked to another unrounded edge, how can that unrounded edge be rounded as well, with a different radius, and produce a proper corner that is well rounded?

Use Round Corner instead. Do your rounding in two steps.
