By animals I assume they are referring to farmers, oil and energy companies, banks and other financial institutions, among others.

I guess I'd be a little surprised to see a zebra going down a street in my town, too. Did they get them all rounded up safely?

Yes, fortunately no harm was done at all. This photo was taken only a couple of hundred metres from where the circus tent was put up.
