Music to make models go by

It's weird I tend to listen to NPR or podcasts when I model, and will only go into music after I've listen to all my shows. My top picks:
- The Adam Carolla Show - This American Life - Creative Screenwriting - Gamespot The Hotspot - KCRW The Treatment - KCRW The Business - Science Friday - Word BalloonWhen I write or read, I will listen to more ambient types of stuff. During my daily writing routine where I don't want to get distracted at all I will put on my headphones and just loop one of these two songs.
- Who Am I? (Animatrix Edit) by Peace Orchestra Featuring Hubert Tubbs - Everyday by Carly Comando ([http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B26asyGKDo](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B26asyGKDo))(and for some reason I can listen to these two loop for hours)
For the most part the difference in activities is that I tend not to think creatively (language wise) when modeling so I like to catch up on radio. When I'm writing, I really need to concentrate and even hearing lyrics can be distracting.

Totally mood-based. Fatboy Slim & Chemical Bros are favs, but I usually run the gamut from Sia to Sepultura. And since I have no shame I'll admit... I like me some Kelly Clarkson from time to time. Don't laugh, I know she's on your iPod too!

I listen to podcasts too but only a few. Mostly old radio programs and tech talk. When I do go to music it ranges from prog to '70s and '80s pop. I also dig bubblegum from time to time. Yes I admit it. Truthfully the music on most '60s bubblegum singles is very well played.
oh, and Pandora. just type in a band or artist and enjoy the ride!

Old radio podcasts? Would you be so kind as to share a link? I used to listen to the broadcast here from 11PM to 1AM and then listen to Coast to Coast AM after that till I'd be asleep. The Shadow, The Whistler all those Hard-boiled detective ones, Suspense, the creaking door, X minus 1 etc. I would love to get some of that on my ipod for working.
I forgot that I streamlink Coast To Coast AM while I work too, that show is just too entertaining, focuses on the paranormal and is just a real free-for all for ideas (sign above door says "nutcases and cracker-jacks enter here!") Once in a blue moon they break a story that turns out to be pretty big though (like the current mysterious mass disappearance of honeybees) -

I'm an audiobook fan myself - I own quite a few, and my local library now lends them for free.
Seems to help me concentrate far better than any playlist - listening to a story must use a completely different part of the brain to painting. Strangely enough, as soon as I start compositing I have to turn it off, as the two start competing for brain space.
Just painted about four hours straight to 'Thud' by Terry Prattchet.

I listen to Contempoaray Christian, Country, Classical, Trumpet concerto's, Brass ensemble & British style brass band, rock, some metal and lots of Jazz. -
What do I listen to these days? Autechre, AFX, Plaid, and maybe some Radiohead or Nine Inch Nails when I want to cheer myself up. Our IT tyrant has banned internet radio at work, but before that I spent a lot of time with SomaFM's Cliqhop and this weird Czech station that is all Trent Reznor, all the time (NINnet).

Do you really listen to Rammstein, Jeff?Yea, Du Hast and Engle are a couple of my screaming favorites. I like NIN too. Devo; Kraftwerk; Karl Orff; RL Burnside; Soul Coughing, Eels; Liquid Soul; Medeski, Martin and Wood; Bitter:Sweet; Sountrack from Baraka; and the Pixies have all been on my play list in the last week.
Buffett and Bob Marley were about it over the holiday weekend.

It's a pity Kompressor, my favorite pseudo-German, pseudo-alien, death metal artist from the Midwest, has retired from the music business. But his music lives on "to crush puny America with German industrial might":
Try "K is for Kompressor"...you just cannot imagine how wonderful the video was. At one point he (rather flabbily) sings in the shower...with the alien mask on.
And then, "for something completely different", listen to Herr K's version of "The Girl from Ipanema."
