Transparent SU Logo
-
I need a truly transparent SketchUp logo in a png format. I have tried a couple of ones I found online but they wind up with a background that is the little gray squares. I want to use it in a SketchUp file that has a background.
-
In image editors the little gray squares indicate transparency. Share the image you have so we can see exactly what you've got.

Do you mean as a watermark?
I pried this one out of SketchUp 2026. It has the gray squares in the image editor but those pixels are transparent.

Or are you trying to make a 3D object to put on your background like a sign? Something like this?

-
Here is what I am seeing:

-
Share just the image you are using along with the .skp file with it.

Here they are..........

Where did you get that image. It wasn't supplied with a truly transparen't background. It's a simple matter to select that background and remove it in an image editor, though.

-
What software do you use for something like that?
The only editor I have is Xara Photoand Graphic designer and I do not see that option. I thought I exported it as a transparent ping file but it must not have worked. I guess I could try again or could you help me?

-
I use PaintDotNet. It's a freeware image editor that is quite powerful. I used the Magic Wand tool to select the background and then pressed Delete. Xara probably has something similar but I don't have any experience with it.
-
@Dave-R I tried to get it but it wanted me to create and account and wanted info that I did not want to supply (like credit card info). Maybe I downloaded the wrong thing.

-
Really? I just click where indicated here:

And then here.

Maybe just do a little investigation in Xara and see what the process is for making transparent backgrounds.
-
Here is the screen I cannot get rid of.

-
Looks like you clicked on the wrong thing. If it won't go away power your computer off and restart it. Then try again.
-
@Dave-R Thank you sir. I talked to some people online and that issue is now resolved.

The one that kept wanting me to create an account (the image I attached).

@ntxdave if you don't need the full pro Photoshop experience, but you want a free clone (which allows you to follow along most basic Photoshop tutorials) you can also give a try to https://www.photopea.com/
It will work in your browser (kinda like SketchUp free does) and doesn't need an account.
You can also install it locally if you prefer.
