At the end of 2024 Twilghtrender will have an end.

In the last five years I became a big fan of Twinmotion, a real good renderengine with great results.

I was using it paralell with Twilghtrender. Twilghtrender is a good tool for easy Jobs inside Sketchup. I don't have to export, I can manage everything inside Sketchup and do a fast render.

What render engine is most similar to Twilghtrender?
Esay to use, cheap and usable inside Sketchup.

I am trying different things but didn't find the right one

-skechupdiffusion looks good but is not yet there, It does not what I want.

-Rayscaper is still in development, but I didn't get warm with it. Now it isn't free anymore to test, many things are not working right now. to early for me to change and pay mony

        Here's my suggestions:

        LightUp
        Podium
        Raylectron
        Fluidray
        Thea Render

Those are engines where the developer/s also make extensions in the SketchUp ecosystem so they are familiar with the API and SDK. That, for me, is important in terms of having your render engine compatible with current and future versions.

Of course there's the usual Vray, Octane and Arnold if your pockets are deeper.

There's the SketchUp to Blender option too.

          Hey @jo-ke,

As the developer of Rayscaper, it's dear to my heart to try to understand what isn't working and what we can improve. I hope to get Rayscaper up there as the best affordable render engine for SketchUp.

          Cheers,
          Thomas

            @pixelcruncher

It takes time to get warm with softare but when it's done it lasts a very long time.

I started with Sketchup in 2007 for free and started to pay for it when it comes out the pro version, I became a pro too and I know how to use it and I have no problem to pay for it because it is an important tool for me. Same with twinmotion. It started free in 2019, I became a pro, and I pay for it since last year. Same thing in Photoshop, My first Version was Photoshop4 around 1994 as a free gift for my scanner. I got familiar with it and I am paying for it the last 20 years.

At rayscaper it is not there and I still don't know, if it will be my renderengine of the future. At the moment the problems of using it are bigger then my poor results of the renderings.

That is totally fair! No dig, and not seeking to make a sale.

And I admit I might have pulled the trigger too soon on the pricing. If you have the time, I am just curious to know what issues you are seeing.

              Cheers,
