Dimensioning in Layout

Hi, I'm new to sketchUcation but have been using SketchUp for a few years for simple construction projects. I've created a module of a cabinet in SketchUp and now I've moved my scenes into Layout to be able to print a plan. My issue is that I can place dimensions outside of the module but any that I try to place on top of the module disappear. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

You are using the Dimension Tool in LayOut? I presume you have tried to adjust the inserted model page depth using the Arrange > Send Backward command?

This would imply that the layer on which you are adding the dimensions is lower in the Layers list than the layer for the viewport.

This is the layers list in one of my templates. The viewports of the SketchUp model are on Model or Model2 and the dimensions go on the next layer up so they will be over the viewports.

I reloaded SketchUp into layout on a new template and now everything works.
I'm assuming it had something to do with layers.
On another note does anyone know how to add material symbols into a module in Layout?

What is it you are callig a "module"? Maybe you could share your LO file so we can see what you've got going on.

What sort of material symbols are you asking for?

Most likely that is the case. In LayOut layer order is important. You should create a layer for dimensions that is closer to the top of the layer list than the layer(s) on which the viewports are placed.
