I reloaded SketchUp into layout on a new template and now everything works.
I'm assuming it had something to do with layers.
On another note does anyone know how to add material symbols into a module in Layout?
      Thanks

What sort of material symbols are you asking for?

    • RE: Tutorial: Export Sketchup to Pdf file

I would recommend, for full control of your output, send your Sketchup file to Layout.

In Layout you can easily organize and refine your scenes, add nice dimensioning, annotations and lots of other features.

When the output is as you really want it to be, one can export to several file types including multi-page PDFs.

I have been using for many years or commercial construction documents. Love it.

    • RE: Activate section plane in Layout.

Make a scene including a section plane and save it.

You will need two "styles" in your Sketchup styles panel. One style must have the box checked to show section cuts; the other style should not have the box checked.

Bring the scene into Layout as two copies. For one copy of the scene choose the style with section cuts shown.

On the second copy of the scene choose style not showing section cuts.

Can't you just turn off the fill? I can. I select the dimension object. Open the Shape Style window and click on the first button (Fill).

On Windows you can also turn off the dim text box fill. Just select the dim and click the fill box same as the Mac.
