Purchasing Plug-ins
-
I feel silly asking this, but for the first time today, I've received a notice that some of my plug-ins were expired (like the joint push pull... said the trial was over). When I tried to update, I was asked to pay a fee for one plug-in. Has sketchup always charged for each plug-in or is this something new? I just want to make sure this is legit before I hand over any money.
And if this is right, what's the best way to buy plug-ins? In a bundle? Or one at a time?
Thanks in advance!

It's not SketchUp that is charging for Joint Push/Pull. Actually SketchUp doesn't actually charge for any externsions. Some authors do, though. In this case a few months ago Fredo6 made some of his extensions including Joint Push/Pull, paid extensions so you need to have a license to continue using them. This was announced in a sticky post in the Plugins category.
Get Fredo6's extensions from Sketchucation and not the Extension Warehouse.
If you don't already have it, go to Resources at the top of this page and get the Sketchucation Extension Store tool. Install that and then use it to install the latest versions of LibFredo6 and any others of Fredo6's extensions that you use.
There is a bundle price for extensions if you want to get all of them and for Sketchucation Premium members, a substantial discount.

Thanks Dave! That's good to know... you can never be too cautious making purchases online these days... Anyway, thanks so much for explaining what happened. It felt like I had that plug-in for a while so, I didn't even know it was a trial.

Its legit. We use PayPal to process payments so your Credit Card info is not handled by us.
If you go here...

...you can see the bundle...
Fredo's trial was 12years. I had no kids when I first used it

You're quite welcome.
I've had Joint Push/Pull since it's initial release years ago. It was only recently that Fredo6 decided it was time to start charging for a set of his extensions. Those extensions are all amazing additions to SketchUp and I think well worth the tiny investment. He has worked very hard at keeping the extensions up to date and improving them so I think it's fair that he get compensated. I'm sure you agree.
Before you do anything else with his extensions make sure you have the Sketchucation Extension Store tool up to date. After installing the latest version, quit and restart SketchUp to make sure the tool loads completely. Then use it to install the current versions of Fredo6's extensions.
