[Plugin][$] FredoCorner - v2.7a - 31 Mar 24
-
Fixed, thankyou Fredo.
I will buy the license now!Regards

I am getting Ruby error when I try to round corners.
Can you review the files attached and tell me if it is possible?
The JPG shows the parameters that I need
-
The errors comes from the rounding of the upper part and the large offset.
Currently FredoCorner does not round edges when one of the edge has a length smaller than the offset.
So, it works with an offset of 2'', but not beyond.
I am planning to evolve the algorithm to overcome this limitation, but this is quite complex. So, not for an immediate release...
Fredo
PS: RoundCorner does not do a better job

Thanks for your quick response and all your great plugins -
I am getting a Ruby console error when I try to round these corners. Can you tell me what is wrong?
-Never mind. I found a way around it.

Since I purchased the license I keep getting Ruby code errors. I have not managed to use the plugin successfully. Here is an example of the errors I get:

Depending on the model, FredoCorner may get into error.
So the best would be to PM me or post the model so that I have a look.
Fredo
PS: This has nothing to do with the license. The error is in the algorithm.

Like many people around the world, I was surprised that Fredo plugins went from free to paid. This is absurd!
Having plugins that have been free for decades and that are quietly going from free to paid, I don't know what quality could I give to this maneuver ...
Yesterday evening I saw, in an instant, the error message indicating "trial version finished", I thought it was April Fool's Day a little too fresh, but not when I got to the download page that it was not my astonishment when I saw that it was paying, whereas it was free just before. it's a very, very stupid operating system!
I have absolutely nothing against people who are looking for a return on investment. But the way to do it is not possible!
Inform people, take opinions, etc.
Especially that, 15 days ago when I updated I did not see that it was paid, since it is not displayed on the list of the plug-in store.Another thing, buying it will not be a problem for me, if I have to I would buy it. But not individually, at 22 ⏠/ plug-in it's very, if not too expensive.
Make a pack of all plugins, or in this case lower the price from 10 to ~ 12 ⏠/ plug-in22 ⏠x (number of plugins) = too expensive.
Sketchup is starting to take the path of software that is losing value, already that the license is very expensive, if even the plug-ins are not affordable, Sketchup is losing more and more credibility, and that I have read on hundreds of forums around the world about the Fredo plug-in which switched to the Pay systemDo not forget, behind there is Blender much more efficient, Open Source, with a more family interface that allows you to learn faster than before. At this speed it's soon the end of Sketchup
-
Fredo didn't just quietly spring this change on the world yesterday. It was announced months ago that some of his extensions would be changing to requiring paid licenses. It's a one time license fee for each extension and includes the updates as they come along. You aren't being forced to purchase the license for FredoCorner. You can choose to use RoundCorner instead. There's still no charge for that one.
-
@Brickokermis: 22⏠per plugin is not too cheap, but lets suppose you used some of (now commercial) Fredeo plugins for 10 years in the past and will continue to use it for additional 10 years in the future; this is approx 1âŹ/year. Just think about it.
P.S. I'd agree though that bundle would be much more user-friendly format. -
It used to be free... At least let us use our old versions, why do you have to make them expire?

You can still use RoundCorner without paying for it.

Hi, I'm having trouble validating the licence. I keep getting this message:
Sorry - An error occured in the communication with Sketchucation
I've checked I've got the up-to-date Plug-in:
ExtensionStore v4.0.0
FredoCorner 3.2
LibFredo 11.6aScreen Shot:
-
Are you connected to the Internet when doing the validation?
-
-
Are you still using SketchUp 2017 as indicated in your profile? What version of the Mac OS?
-
Two things. One the plug in is GREAT. Second, mine seems to have expired. I have NO problem with paying for a perpetual license but there is NO way I can find, to pay! I NEED the plugin but it won't install. Or at least appear for me to use. The sketchUcation extension manager says it's installed but I keep getting errors and it doesn't appear for me to use. Help!!! I have the latest version of the Fredo6 library installed.
