Problem object!!
-
I think we need an image of the object you are trying to create to fully understand. Looks like it could just be a but of pushpull then move with alt.
-
Thanks, this is exactly how it should be, will try it myself !!

I succeeded in the last task shown hear, but now I hit another wall and have the following problem, I like to Subtract the solid (in between blue lines) from the hollow Range Finder cove, so that an opening appears in the Rang Finder cove.
I made both objects a group, only the blue lined object seems to be solid, but it must be possible some how to make this opening in the Range Finder cove.
Can anyone tell me how to proceed ??Put another screenshot here, the bottom and front part must also be open:
And what I also miss is the thickness of the plate must be shown !!

The cove has no inner face, you can see the blue/gray of the back face, you need to have thickness for it to be a solid.
However, you can select the faces of the cove and Intersect Faces with Model to achieve the cutting edges.
It would help if you attached your model so we can see better what you have.

Here is the original file:
And I tried to intersect faces of the model, but got this message:
-
It's easier to redraw your shape with the inner face intact than it is to replace the missing face.
-
Thanks a lot Box, do you have any idea how I can save your little videos, for watching them later ??
-
Intersect Faces with ... is the long hand way of doing things that solid tools can do.
You need to be in the correct context and make the correct choice but, basically it needs to have something to intersect with.Like this.

You can right click on the gif and choose, 'Save Image as' to you computer and it should open in any browser and many image editors or viewers.

Thanks a lot for your tutorials and tip for saving these. I also have another question, what my problem is, why can't I find these solutions on my own, which tutorials did you follow to get that good in SketchUp !! I am busy with this model of the Gun Turret now for three weeks and don't make any progress, only the solutions you sent me, in real you are building my model not I

The sketchup campus is a good place to start.
https://learn.sketchup.com/Plus the Sketchup Youtube Channel.
I originally followed Sketchup for dummies on youtube by aiden chopra.
