Sequence of a project (UPDATED) ( 2)
-
Hi all, am working on a large landscape architecture project It is to dovetail a 35yo existing lake and associated landscape and upgrade so it interfaces with a 40 million dollar library and civic facility. Anyway thought I would share the sequence of work with others as it is being designed and visualised with only sketchup. I will go into AutoCAD for the construction aspect. Hope somebody gets something out of it:)

Some more about 3 weeks work so far.
-
Thought I would do a quick/rough test render to see how it was coming along and to give me a short break from designing modelling.
-
Looks good.

Looking good, you may be interested in the Land F/X extension to help automate things a little.

I'm curious about what we should be commenting on. Is it the design, the modelling, the technical drawings, the Render, the concept?
I'm really not understanding as your images are quite simply, unfinished.
So many box edges around objects... -

So many box edges around objects...I work in the area of Landscape Architecture. Had been waiting for some time to see a sequence of work in progress and as yet unfinished sketchup model being applied to a large, detailed,(Acreage) sketchup modelwith this workflow, but one never appeared that I am aware of. With this in mind I posted as it may be helpful to others with the same interests. I also heard about land FX..........

Quite right too.
My comment comes across as rude, it wasn't meant that way but I was obviously being an arse when I wrote it.
I would edit it but it's better left so people can see that I am an idiot. -

If all idiots are like you, the world will be a better place.

Hi am working on some details now, lots of planting and infrastructure, some things are just place keepers for now. Model is quite big now and showing the first signs of it slowing my computer, but am trying to make good use of my layers. It is such a big model that I am getting a bit fatigued. Will have to work through the weekend (Without pay) As I must present it on Monday and want it to present as well it can. As yet the CEO has no idea of my design approach. Does not look as much work as has actually occurred. I am designing as I am modelling
Cheers

no matter if spaceship, mars truck, landscape, ...
I love all kind of these "how is it done" stories here !!! - it's like for no reason being allowed to look over someone's shoulder while working. Even if no particular intention should be hidden behind it, the gesture alone is already good.
DidnΒ΄t we all despise the classmates earlier, who put on a huge school atlas(?) in between us to prevent us from writing off ? (apart from those, of course, that placed the atlases! )
So, thanks to those who let us watch for whatever -
... a great engagement (the weekend thing I also know ). I hope you make good progress and best luck for your presentation on Monday - I am curious to hear how it ran then...

Have just did a couple of test renders and a Fotoscetcher watercolour. The bus is there to hide some unfinished bits.

Hi all, I promised to show the whole sequence. I was asked to make some recomendations fof lighting. I made some recomendations but the stakeholders did not know what it would look like so I did this
rough render to show how the lighting may appear. I thought I would have a go at showing the overall effect. Pretty rough around the edges but it shows the potential of investing in a big model

Just did a watercolour render
